Aaron Rodgers and Nick Barnett exchanged a few barbs this week, but the quarterback is claiming it is water under the bridge now. Rodgers recently called Barnett and the two spoke directly.

“I initiated the conversation; we ironed things out,” Rodgers said, according to ESPN.com. “I didn't think there needed to be an apology on either side. I reminded him I was the one who went to the third floor and lobbied to have everyone in the team photo. I realize people are going to want to talk about this at the Super Bowl, but everything is cool."

Their little public rift began when Rodgers irked Barnett by subtly complaining about players on injured reserve not sticking around and being near the team.

Barnett, one of 16 Packer players on IR, responded via Twitter (he has since deleted his Twitter account), saying, "All I wanted to be is included as a teammate nothing more. Looks like it has backfired on me. I guess that was asking too much... Sorry if I offended anyone."

If he did, all is well is now (according to Rodgers).

Rodgers, Barnett clear the air

Laughable to say that the Packers will always be Farve's team.  They let Farve go because Rodger's was better than him then and is much better than him now.  Farve did amazing things for the Packers but this is Rodger's team now and has been since his first snap as a starter.  If you want Farve back so badly I'm certain the Vikings would happily trade Farve for Rodgers straight up.  They might even higher a limo to take Farve out of town and deliver him to Green Bay.

Maybe, it's just me, but I am so sick of listening to stories revolving around Facebook and Twitter. I will never understand this society's obsession with those two entities.

Barnett is wrong, he should not have brought this up on twitter.  He should have called Rodgers.  Barnett should have shut his mouth, he has been out for half a season, the team went on to achieve a Super Bowl berth.  And this jerk has to make news for himself.  Bringing this up at this time, when the team is trying to prepare for the big game, is going to harm his next contract.  Let me tell you why.  2011 is his last year under current contract with Pack.  AJ Hawk is under contract through the Super Bowl.  Hawk, missed one game in his career.  Barnett has basically missed two seasons.  Hawk, played better with Barnett gone, doesn't yap and get 15 yard Unsportsman Like penalties.  Doesn't raise himself above the team.  Barnett has had two off the field incidents in Green Bay, Hawk zero.  The Pack will let Barnett go, save some money, give it to Hawk.  Barnett will look for a team, most teams will not grab him for a long term contract, because of injuries, age, past headaches, and his recent twitter tantrum, that will cause a headache for the players and coaches trying to get a team ready for the Super Bowl.  Teams that are on the cusp, or barely got into the playoffs may look to get a one year, maybe two year contract, nothing more than that, and a bonus connected to games played.

It is too bad, Barnett always plays hard, but he is just a good linebacker, not great, and if you bring the drama along with the age and injuries, you have to be great to get a big contract.  You can be good, consistant, and an older player, yet still get a nice four year deal.  He will not, though I have been wrong before.

Barnett's just upset that he's no longer needed in Green Bay, and being in a photo won't change that.

That will always be Favre's team?

I think that's up to Packer fans and owners... Favre was good and it was fun most of the time, but Rodgers is the present and the future.

Perhaps Kill_Switch is a bit bitter for numerous reasons:
His teams' (Cowboys) disappointing performance this year
His QB (Tony Romo) not living up to expectations
The fact that Packers will raise the Lombardi in his teams stadium
Maybe it's just the beatdown that the Packers gave the Cowboys earlier this season, and by the way, the Packers' D did not score all of those points(45).

It's a non-issue but the organization was wrong for not including every player on the team.  This guy has given you consistent play since his rookie year, he should be in the picture.

Listen, Kill Switch, Brett Favre is gone. He's not coming back. Get over it. Nobody is running down his contributions to the Packers' organization, but this disdain for Rodgers is illogical. Get over your schoolgirl crush of Favre.
