Ngata Assuming the NFL plays next season and assuming the franchise tag survives into the next CBA (and all that jazz), the Ravens will franchise tag DE Haloti Ngata, NFL.com’s Jason La Canfora reports.

Ngata had perhaps the best season of his career in 2010, totaling 63 tackles, 5 ½ sacks and five defended passes.

At this point, the Ravens move is essentially meaningless because of the labor negotiations. But it simply shows the Ravens want to bring him back, though if they didn’t, that would be an even bigger story.
