The comments on this article should range nicely from "STEELER SUX" to "STOP WASTING MY TIME, LOSER," but it warrants mentioning, I think, that Ben Roethlisberger was reportedly out getting a little loose at Pete's Dueling Piano Bar in Fort Worth where the Steelers are staying this week.

Yes, that report does come via TMZ.com, and, no Ben doesn't do anything stupid. Unless you count choosing Billy Joel's "Piano Man" as his selection during the karaoke session he and "two massive teammates" held from 11:00 PM until 1:15 AM.

People inside the bar told TMZ that Ben was "nice, fun and took care of everyone" -- reportedly he bought several rounds for the entire bar. (And presumably, that was so some jerk wouldn't sell video of him singing to TMZ for $5,000.)

Look, this video, which you have to assume is going to make the rounds Thursday, is really only a big deal because of circumstance.

Ben got in trouble for some pretty nasty allegations that occurred while he was partying too hard in some random, podunk town in Georgia. Ergo, when people Ben's supposed to be in Dallas and focused and renewed and changed and all that stuff.

That doesn't mean that Ben has to go to church every night or go rescue orphans in between Super Bowl practices. Expecting that out of him would be a bit much.

And it's also pretty fine for the guy to cut loose a little bit by enjoying a reasonably quiet evening on the town. But given all that's happened over the last year, it's surprising to see him even risk the potential of public discussion about his behavior in the week leading up to the Super Bowl.

Because regardless of the thought process behind his behavior and whether or not belting out Billy Joel tunes at 1:00 AM in a Piano Bar in a day and age when everyone has a camera phone actually affects his on-field performance, if the Steelers end up losing, people will want to know why he wasn't spending the week getting more prepared.

Nothing To Write About?

The worst punishment a football fan will ever sufffer is the two week' leading up to the Super Bowl. Absolutely nothing happens in sports. Please God, make a college football championship a realtiy so we can fill up the void?

and to even think that mental preparation includes "letting loose" just doesn't cut it with me.

This would probably explain why you are not QBing any team in the NFL for that matter.

Roethlisberger partying during Super Bowl week?

Please Ben go find another co-ed, and make a fool of yourself. Nothing would be more awesome than Ben not being able to play Sunday because of an overagressive punk trying to impress a 19 year old college student. Keep up the new image buddy...maybe you can hook up with Charlie Sheen.

Is Will Brinson trying to impress CBS sports?

This is the most annoying attempt at a story since, well anything related to Brett Favre. How low can one writer go?  Does he really think writing this story will keep the CBS sports guys happy with his articles/job? I bet he wrote it on his blackberry while sitting at the piano bar with Ben.  HE is probably the guy blackmailing Big Ben with a video of him singing.

Will did show who is a bigger tool than Big Ben.  Will Brinson is.  If you have to start a story defending the comments that will be made about your article before you actually start your article, then your article is complete crap!   Just dont write it.

Roethlisberger partying during Super Bowl week?

The media is at it again, blowing this story up to a ridiculous level. He didn't rape anybody. He didn't get into a fight. He just went out with 2 teammates, bought the bar drinks, and did Karaoke.... Oh God, someone throw him in jail! haha

Roethlisberger partying during Super Bowl week?

Will Brinson...      you will never be any type of real reporter or analyst. I find the article less disturbing than the simple lack of judgement you had for posting it. You've gone beyond the depths of low, and, even if it is only me, from here on out, will never give you any credit for any type of post I see from you in the future.

Will Brinson's credibility = ZERO
