LaDainian Tomlinson has a year left on his two-year contract with the Jets. However, he has not received any definitive assurance that he’ll be back in 2011.

“Part of it really does suck,” Tomlinson told Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. “It really does for me. To be in limbo… sometimes, I just want to say, ‘You know what? I’m just going to retire.’”

“It’s kind of a messed up feeling to be in,” he said about being in limbo. “Because I feel like we had a great season. Things went well. But here there’s questions about whether I’m going to come back (with the one) year that I have left (on my contract). So who knows.”

Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum said the club expects Tomlinson to be back, but he also acknowledged that “these things could change”.

Tomlinson, 31, is slated to earn $2.4 million in 2011. He rushed for 914 yards last season and added 368 more through the air. However, he tailed off as the season progressed, rushing for less than 60 yards in each of the final 10 games.

Anyone that has anything bad to say about LT is an idiot and not a true football fan.  He was the Walter Payton of my generation.  Nothing but skills and class.  HOF for sure....

I like LT2, (sorry, but the real LT retired as the best linebacker to play the game) but even Choker players trashed Tomlinson after he left.  My biggest problem with him was after slamming the Pats for the "Lights Out" dance he called himself a classy guy.  If you're a classy guy, you don't have to tell people.  I lost some respect for him at that moment.

Raider Fans South? Give me a break FOOL! We HATE you Idiots down here!! Thats why you get your jaws broke every time you come down here rooting for your sorry ass team.

In sunny San Diego?  HAHAHAHAHA!!!!  You Choker fans are a joke.  Anybody remember a few years ago when Brent Farve came to town with the Packers and by the fourth quarter, the Choker fans had left and all that was left was half a stadium of Packer fans?  You guys are pathetic.  You don't break jaws, especially not the jaws of Raider fans.

I hate the Raiders, but please, don't lump their fans in with these fair weather buffoons that cheer for the Chokers.

Hey RAMS FAN-
You have got to be the stupidest poster on this board.  hands down the most delusional.  If you somehow related me talking about the classless patriots doing the lights out dance on the sidelines (which was completely lame) to the Patriots "cheating" then you are seriously more brain dmamged than i had originally estimated.  The Patriots CHEATEd by TAPING other teams!  Remember SPYGATE little one?  thats an entire team CHEATING.  Merriman did roids and had 2 good years and then collapsed.. hes not a Charger anymore in case u havent noticed.  However the Chargers dont have any Lombardi trophies due to him juicing and the Pats have about 2 or three that could be directly related to their little video taping scandal.
My point was originally, that how can u say LT is classless?  If people want to say Merriman was classless then i would have to agree, he was a big mouthed showboat that used roids... i totally get that.  LT has done nothing but put up HALL OF FAME numbers while working his butt off every year hes been in the league.  Hes always humble and soft spoken in interviews, and the only time hes ever called anyone on an opposing team out was after that Patriot game because what they did was classless.  People Hate LT so much and i dont get it...  iis it bec ause he hasnt been fortunate enough to win a ring?  how is that his fault?  The Man was litterally crying when the Bolts let him go because he gae his heart and soul for this team, but it was a business decision...  he was picked up by the Jets and was very productive for them this year.  People talk trash on this guy like hes Lebron or T.O. or something and its just wrong.

This should not come as a surprise to him, and this isn't the ONLY season where his production has tailed off towards the end of the season.  And let's not forget the famous sitting on the bench during the playoffs with SD.  It's good to have a rusher that can give you the 60 - 80 yards per game rushing and teh 50-70 yards through the air during the season, BUT it does you absolutely no good for that player to wear down and when you NEED him during the playoffs he's not there.  This is hwere LT is and has been for the past three years or so.  If this weren't true he'd still be in SD, and past that if it weren't true then he'd be assured a spot on the team next year instead of worrying about if he'll be back.

The Jets should trade him to the 49ers. We need a decent back in tandem with Frank Gore. As good as Anthony Dixon is, he is still young and inexperienced. I can see a two back offense starring Gore and LT. Both are great inside runners with very good speed and they can catch the ball well too. LT, Gore, Vernon Davis, Josh Morgan and a focused Michael Crabtree would be a high powered offensive machine...provided that Jim Harbaugh is able to find a good QB. Now, Harbaugh has been given alot of credit for what he has done in college, but it's alot different in the pros.....or maybe not! Best of luck to all involved in this story.
