Report: Fitz gave Cards a list of QBs he wants

Larry Fitzgerald is heading into the final year of his contract and he's made it clear that he wants to stay in Arizona. If they give him a lot of money. And if they get him a quarterback who will help the team win.

He's reportedly gotten even more specific, too, naming Kevin Kolb and Marc Bulger as guys he wants in Phoenix, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Kolb is apparently Fitz' top choice, but the most glaring part of the report is the lack of Derek Anderson, Max Hall, John Skelton and Donovan McNabb on the list.

McNabb should be one of the top free agent quarterbacks on the market, despite his age and poor 2010 performance, but the Cardinals aren't a team that's been considered likely to show any interest in him, should the Redskins end up not picking up his option.

Kolb's a nice target, but the problem is the Eagles will probably want a first-round draft pick in exchange for their talented backup signal caller. (Which would mean if the Cards give Fitzgerald everything he wants, they're going to severely hamper themselves long-term.)

Bulger's a much more realistic target, obviously, because he's simply the backup in Baltimore.

Either way, though, the Cardinals would be heavily catering to a single player's demands and still leaving themselves open to a nightmare situation if either Bulger (he is old) or Kolb (he is still somewhat unproven) didn't work out in 2011.

I have no problem with this, he is an All-Pro receiver that still put up respectable numbers with the afore mentioned qb's. Plus, who is to say that management did ask him for a list of potential qb's. He's a great football player and a class act, no problem what so ever with this....

I have no problem with Fitz giving a list of QB's to the Cards MGMT. It is obvious that the Cards were clueless that Warner was going to leave I will give them that.  However your backups are Skelton, the rookie from BYU, and then they pick up Anderson......what a joke. Of the backups I think the rookie from BYU looked the best. But when you are one of the best  WRs in the game I wouldnt want waste my years playing with backup QBs as starters

Fitz is better than Boldin and Warner is going to make the HOF!

You really are a moron!  Boldin WAS NEVER the best receiver on that team!  Fitzgerald is the 1 or 1A with Andre Johnson as the NFL's BEST receiver.  And you say Breaston can get open, I wonder why that is...?  Could it be because Fitzgerald is ALWAYS double covered with a corner and a safety!  Next time, before you throw out your half-assed comment on a subject you know NOTHING about, do some research!  Moron...

PS.  Larry has hands that are big enough and strong enough to crush your face...

Report: Fitz gave Cards a list of QBs he wants

i am a cardinals' season ticket holder and i love Fitzy and what he brings to the team, but if the cardinals can offer Fitz to the patriots for oakland's 1st, gronkowski and a 3rd, i would do it in a heartbeat. there are way too many free agent WR in the draft not to make this move. with the cardinals' pick at 5, i would draft another CB. either Patrick Peterson or Prince Amukamara.  one them alongside DRC, will almost eliminate deep threats for arizona's defense and teams would have to beat the cardinals with the run. the cardinals have an improving young linebacker core and the new defensive coordinator will work with them.i dont think that the cardinals should go with QB at #5. i don't think that gabbert will be a good QB in this league and they can get a QB in the 2nd round that will be as good as Gabbert, such as Mallert or others. if they were to make a change with fitz and make the trade i proposed, i would take OT Anthony Castonzo out of Boston College or Gabe Carimi out of Wisconsin. the cardinals need to protect their QB and it was a big weakpoint in the team's offense, or lack their of. john skelton has shown good signs that he can do well in the league and for the cardinals. the cardinals want to go to a more powerful running game. this is their chance. i believe if the cardinals are patient with skelton, who they traded up to get last year, he will pay out dividens.

i just dont want the cardinals to get screwed out on the top defensive player at a single position for a qb who has to learn the nfl sysytem all over

cardinals drafted lienart and passed up on haloti ngata a defensive stud and probowler on baltimore. where is lienart now. good pick green. didnt like it at the draft.

cant wait to hear my the replies

Last time I checked, the people who write the checks get to pick who they want to sign.  Sorry Fitz, your choice means nothing, though I'm sure management was thrilled to hear your input, especially since it included Bulger, who should be available for a six-pack.

I believe Lebron James demonstrated why a team shouldn't give in to these demands.  The Cardinals likely will do it anyways...

UmDude,

I wouldn't fault Fitz for this one.  The Cards had no plan in place to bring in a quality QB when they knew Kurt was going to retire. Fitz is doing what he needs to to get the management and ownership refocused.  Do I think he feels it's all about Larry?  Right now, yes.  Is it right, Not in the short term but it will drive decisions.  How about they trade Fitz for a first rounder and number two reciever?  Hmmm.  Luck (WA QB) in the draft might be worth a shot.  Green or Jones whould be first rounder's this year and Floyd (ND) is a sure first rounder next year.
