Michael Bush arrested for DWI

it's a sad state when you don't have the kind of friends that u could call and they would do you a solid. I tell all my friends I don't care what time it is, if you're drunk give me a call and I'll pick you up. Just buy me breakfast in the morning, or  six-pack the next day. whatever. I'd rather be inconvenienced for 1/2 hr or so, than to have my friend die in a car wreck or kill somebody else. no need to ruin a life over a night of partying.

Bottom line: Drunk driving is unacceptable. You are driving a 1/2 ton of steel at high speeds. usually at night. don't make it worse by drinking ...

There's definitely truth to the argument that cops are stepping up "enforcement". The number of citations and arrests have sky rocketed in Michigan for instance. I don't think all of a sudden people started being bad/drunk drivers. It's a source of revenue when tax revenues are down. Basically they're doing it to stay employed. I guess if you're drunk and driving there's still no valid argument.

I don't think putting an ad in the paper for a "handler" is a good idea. You can't trust people, even people you know. It's a bad idea to put yourself in someone else's hands if you're drunk, even if you're compensating them for it. Give them $200 and they'll be looting your wallet, bank account etc. when you're incapacitated. Especially if you're a pro athlete. I thought about having some type of handler, and I am nowhere near the income level of Michael Bush, but decided against it. I'd say just move near a bar and eat a big meal when you're drunk. Leave the AMEX and ATM card at home, just take a little cash. Avoid too much hard liquor, beer and wine and you'll be fine. Walk home when things start getting fuzzy.

I know about 10 people that got "busted" for DUI.  They were all guilty sman2011.  I don't know what state you're from, but that seems like a crock of shiit to me.  Cops "bust" drivers who are driving erratically.......But I guess it's all the same.  The fact that he put himself in this situation is stupid beyond belief.

You need to either move to an urban area where there's public transportation, cabs, etc. available, or you need to move walking distance to a few bars. End of story.

Yeah. Or put an ad in a paper looking for a little slave that you can call in a moments notice and be picked up and dropped off anywhere you want.  I'm thinking 100 dollars plus gas money in this economy would lease an athlete a slave.. make it 200 and oh my God.... there would be over a hundred applicants.

Even if he was only making 500 grand per season, that's still a ridiculous amount of money.  There are cabs for God sakes......

With the simple addition of a "c" in his last name, between the "s" and "h", might mean endorsement opportunity from a certain BEER maker out of St Louis. Would help pay the legal bills.

ps my philosophy is if you're a person who likes to go out and drink, you need to be honest with yourself and basically arrange your life around drinking. You're a drunk, nothing wrong with it as long as you make the necessary arrangements. You need to either move to an urban area where there's public transportation, cabs, etc. available, or you need to move walking distance to a few bars. End of story. Otherwise you'll do it all half a*ssed, you'll drive to the bar and you'll be like "oh I am just going to have a few drinks." You'll end up having 5 to 7 drinks or something, not totally trashed but just enough to get you busted. You'll repeat the pattern week after week until you finally get busted, and then you'll shake your head about how stupid you were for not making some type of arrangements in advance. Your life will be full of high insurance fees, court dates, attorney's fees, employment complications, embarrassment and general inconvenience.
