P. Burress (US Presswire)
On Saturday super agent Drew Rosenhaus tweeted out an update on the status of what will be his most controversial client in 2011, Plaxico Burress. Here’s the full tweet (or tweets):

“Just visited with client Plaxico Burress. He is doing great! He is running & lifting weights 5 days a week. He looks in terrific shape. He is in great spirits and is excited to be reunited with his family on June 6th. We talked at length about his future in the NFL & he can't wait to get back on the football field in 2011! He is mentally & physically strong right now and is looking forward to the future! He has set some great goals for his life on and off the field. Get ready to see him do some amazing things this year in all areas!”

Burress is set to be fully released from prison on June 6. He’ll be a free agent this summer. His backstory is familiar but forever interesting: after being the hero of the Giants' win in Super Bowl XLII, he was arrested on weapons charges after shooting himself in the leg at a New York nightclub. This, of course, makes Burress controversial, though even before the legal issues, there were major concerns about his attitude and intensity.

Character issues shouldn't be a problem for Burress this time around (you have to figure prison has humbled the man), but is a wideout in his mid-30s who has baggage and two years of rust really worth bothering with?

Let me school you realy quick "TryHard", not going  to happen. Idiot! Change that profile pic, the avatar name and chose another club. You obviously are the biggest tool to follow the Gold Rush. We don't need that kind of support. Let some other team pick up the old guy. Not too many WRs in their mid 30s and on worth a crap. Plax will not be one of those few. If you think so, you just have a biased opinion and like the guy. I'm not basing my statement off of a personal interest. He'll be of no use to any team in the slot as a No.3! There is talent elsewhere with his size and prior abilities.

If not for the fact that convicted felons can never again own a gun, I'd say he might spend the summer in a "handgun safety course."  He obviously didn't know much about one before!

Yea, he deserves two years of prison and and end to his career because he shot himself in the leg. What a JOKE, pacman jones gets a 2nd,3rd,4th....chance while he is screwed out of the prime of his career.
