Plenty of words have been used to speculate on whether or not Champ Bailey would return to the Denver Broncos (especially given the presence of Patrick Peterson at the top of the draft board), but those words are useless now as the Broncos announced they've reached a new four-year deal with Bailey.

That's according to John Elway on -- where else -- Twitter.

"We are thrilled to announce that the Broncos have agreed to terms on a new four-year contract with cornerback Champ Bailey," Elway tweeted. "The commitment and loyalty that Champ has shown to the Broncos, the city of Denver and this region is exemplary."

"We're fortunate to have Champ with the Broncos for a long time. This is a GREAT day for our entire organization and our fans."

Bailey reportedly put his house on the market earlier in the year, and it certainly didn't seem as if he'd end up coming back to Denver -- despite Elway's earlier praise for the cornerback -- especially as they rebuild (they do know they're rebuilding, right??).

This probably means that the Broncos won't be targeting Peterson now, and opens up the significant possibility for a guy who has some similarities to Julius Peppers (Da-Quan Bowers out of Clemson) to end up for a guy who once coached Peppers (John Fox).

At the very least, they can actually seek to upgrade other defensive areas of need. And either way, Champ's going to retire a Bronco, and a lot of mock drafts are going to get re-drafted first thing tomorrow morning.

First of all, anyone who goes by Daddy BoomBoom is a moron, wannabe pimp.  Secondly, stop using drugs.  Seriously, put down the drugs now.  Did you just ask how many Super Bowls Denver has won -- incorrectly, I might add -- like the Raiders have so many more?  Denver has two.  There is your answer to that.  And Broncos fans are not morons, so we know the Raiders have three, one whole Super Bowl more than Denver.  Additionally, the Raiders have a whopping zero Super Bowl wins since I stopped being afraid of the dark 27 years ago.  Nice Chicago Cubs-like streak you are starting there.  Denver has owned the Raiders for the better part of fifteen years, so don't act like an idiot because you put a spanking on them this year.  I can recall a dozen games where Denver ate the Raiders alive.  Shanahan might as well have been on your GM, because he knew your crappy team better than you.
I know you are a fool and are just trying to start crap on a message board, but that just makes me wonder what is so wrong with your pathetic existence that you need to do that.  How can you praise a franchise that has been the laughingstock of the NFL for a seven or eight years?  As bad as Denver's season was, I think it is more pathetic that Raiders fans get excited over a .500 season.  You are right, you might as well go 0-16 if you don't win it all, and you guys have come close a few times recently.  Remember your place when the Broncos return to being a power.  And go ahead and don't cover our receivers.  That should work well for you.  Underestimating a player or an opponent is the easiest way to get beat.  It happened to us this year against the Raiders, and we will have our revenge.
Have a nice night BoomBoom.  What a joke.

Statistically the top four in the league were Asomugha, Revis, Routt, C. Johnson.  3 of the 4 were Raiders.  Now Chanp is definitely one of the best and for many years was the best.  Definitely not the best now, but can hang with any of them.  Can't disagree with the signing.  Surprised Champ didn't want a chance to play on a contender.

Wow what a waste of a cornerback.  With Tebow at the helm a lot of defenses will not even bother covering the WR's.  Sad to see such a great CB and person end his career in obscurity.  And for the guy who thinks the Raiders are bad:  Even when we are we still beat the snot out of the Donkeys.  How many Superbowls you guys win?  Don't compare one of the greatest NFL franchises ever to a below average one.  Realistically, the Donkeys are at least two to three years aways from competing.  I forget you guys think that making to the playoffs and getting smoked is a good season.  If you don't win it all you might as well go 0-16.

Is Champ's mansion still on the market? Could be the beginning of a sign and trade deal.

Moden1 must be a Broncos fan.  It's the only way someone could post so many stupid things that absolutely are not true.

It is a shame to see this happen to a great franchise like the Broncos.
