Weeks after bailing on the show, Michael Vick finally spoke publicly about Oprah Winfrey. The Eagles quarterback was scheduled to appear on the iconic talk show last month but backed out in the 11th hour.

"I just thought the timing wasn't right, based on everything that was going on with the contract, the CBA and certain things that I didn't want to touch on at the time," Vick told the Associated Press. "I felt like I needed to do more in order to be on the show to talk about the past and to talk about the present and how prosperous things are and how bad they were and how we can move forward. I think when I do go on, it's going to be outstanding."

Smart move by Vick to put it all on himself here. The obvious reality is, he realize there was no benefit for him to go on the show and be confronted once again with his dogfighting past. But instead of saying that, he’s instead said he first needs to “do more”. That’s not true, of course. Vick’s already gotten out of prison, regained his stardom and turned in the best season of his NFL career. But from a tact standpoint…well played.

Ray Lewis was found not guilty. Stallworth was convicted of manslaughter for hitting a drunk person who actually was running in the streets, and actually ran in front of a car.
I won't even begin to touch on the rest of your comments.

Vick talks about his Oprah audible

They're only dogs.  He's paid his dues.  He's been rehabilitated.  He's a hero.  They're only dogs.  He's like Jesus Christ.  Ray Lewis.  Donte Stallworth.  He served his time.  They're only dogs.  Vick for president.  I'm proud of Vick!  Way to go Vick!  This shows that the justice system works.  They're only dogs.  He's a beast.  MV7.  I heart Vick.  PETA.  Black athlete treated unfairly.  He spent too much time in prison.  They're only dogs.  I just bought myself and my kids Vick jerseys.  He deserves more credit.  He's not being protected by the refs.  Hall of Famer.  They're only dogs.  It was his culture.  Everyone deserves a second chance.  He was young and stupid.  Vick "the present day Robin Hood".  He had nothing to do with the shooting at his birthday party of his past friend who rolled over on him. People need to give him a break.  They're only dogs.  They're only dogs.  They're only dogs.

It's funny how all of a sudden vick is playing lights out you people love him once again.  I bet if he struggled on the football field most of you would still be criticizing him.  Most of you are just fake a s s people.

I was a vick fan since Va Tech days, I even had my 2 yr old in a Atl Vick jersey. When the dog fighting came to surface I was ashamed to have been a fan of someone who could such a thing. However, today I am proud to say that my childfren and I are wearing our Eagles #7 jerseys. Its nice to see someone make the most of a second chance, and to stay so humble during his rise back to the top. I hope continues making the right decisions and become a role model that I wont mind my children looking up to.
