'At least 3 teams' thinking of trading for Kolb?

It's no real secret that lots of teams in the NFL adore Kevin Kolb. After all, he's a really good backup on a team that will be starting Michael Vick next season, and it's not like the Eagles are shy about trading quarterbacks.

Oh yes -- half of the league desperately needs a starting signal caller too. And ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Monday that "at least three teams are debating deals" for Kolb.

The language here is important, because anyone can "consider trading for" Kolb. Like the Panthers, for instance, who need a quarterback. But their need for someone like Kolb to step in doesn't necessarily match up with what the Eagles will require in return -- a first-rounder (and even if their first overall pick in the second round might work, it's already in the Patriots hands).

So, for three teams to be seriously considering a trade for Kolb means that the Eagles were correct in their assessment of his value. He's worth a significant amount of money to a significant number of teams, and likely a first-rounder at some point.

Now, bear in mind if there's no new CBA by the time the draft rolls around in late April, the Eagles won't be able to get immediate value for Kolb, because teams won't be allowed to trade. Which makes the likelihood that they sit tight and plan a little longer for the future much higher. But it's also extremely likely that Philly's talking with other teams about what it would take to get Kolb, so don't be shocked if you see his name in a major deal once/if a new CBA gets done.

Don't forget, either, that it wouldn't be impossible for a team like, say, Arizona, to draft a player with their first pick that Philadelphia "really, really likes" (do you get what I am saying?) and then include him in a later deal for Kolb.

Im a hardcore Eagles fan but the hell with Micheal Vick. Yeah his good and all but instead of thinking of trading Kolb they should just trade Vick. In the whole history of the NFL, there hasnt been one Black QB who played all season games and gone to win the Super Bowl. yeah that Redskins Qb won one but he was a back up. I think Andy Reid is in Love with Black QBs. Andy Reid just want to make Vick his new "McNabb" but a newer version. In Kolb I Trust. plus he is white and similar to Rodgers who by the way was Super Bowl MVP.

I hope Arizona (Cards) are dumb enough to trade some of their picks for Kolb. Then Seattle will really own the NFC West as, IMO Arizona is the only threat to the Seahawks. If we can just get R. Mallet, then we would have a 'Young Gun' (ala S. Bradford) and may the best gunslinger win. Meantime, the Cards can play QB carrousel and play K. Kolb one game, then D. Anderson one game, etc, etc.

There was a qb vick beat him out in camp for the starting job. When he ran the offense he looked lost and incomplete. For someone that sat on the bench for 3 years to learn the system didnt look like he learned anything. The to lose you starting job to a guy that was just 2 years out of football. Some thought Vick would never start or play again. I dont think that he is any good. His couple 300 yard games was a good sign. But to throw for 300 and lose does not mean anything. Eagles are always doing stuff like this ripping teams off for players that stink.

You can find a decent back up in free agency or in this draft Kolb is not the right for the Eagles Reid just has to let go of his emotions and do what's best for the team move on Kolb is a good QB great not sure yet but he and the Eagles are better off trading him. The Eagles system is made for QB s like Mike Vick not Kolb the kid does great things but it just doesn't seem like hes a good fit the Eagles system.
