Mario Branch, an offensive tackle who spent two training camps with the Tennessee Titans, has died of congestive heart failure. Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean passed along the news. Branch was 31.

The former Mississippi Valley State lineman was 6-7, 345 pounds during his time with the Titans (’03 and ’04).

“He was huge, and he looked like he could rip your head off,” former Titans lineman Brad Hopkins said. “But he was a great guy to have in the locker room. Everybody loved Mario. He was one of those guys who looked so intimidating, but once you got to know him you were pleasantly surprised you got to meet him. We had tons of rookies come in and out I don’t remember, but he is one of the guys I remember because he was such a good guy.”

Branch’s funeral is Saturday.

So this is 2011 for sure,  everyone always needs an answer for everything.   Else someone or something to blame.  A tragedy can no longer be just that.  In case some of you forget, each and every year some poor high school kids passes for no paticular good reason while playing a football or basketball game.  Maybe instead of pushing all of your agendas you could think about this poor guys family.

NOT EVERYONE THAT DIE FROM CHF IS OVER WEIGHT. ARE YOU PEOPLE SERIOUS? YOU SHOULD DO RESEARCH BEFORE YOU SAY SOMETHING STUPID!

Yes, but being overweight and most likely out of shape since he's been out of the game (last played in the arena league in 2007) is going to cause heart problems. I don't see anyone saying that you die of CHF because you are overweight. The man is carrying around 350 lbs and probably wasn't in game shape any more. The heart can only take so much if you aren't exercising it like an athlete normally would.

AND YOU SHOULD LEARN HOW TO PRESS THE CAPS LOCK KEY NEXT TIME.

According to Medicinenet.com, An early symptom of congestive heart failure is fatigue.  This death will prompt Commish Roger Goodell to start fining players who show signs of fatigue on the field to prevent more players from suffering from Congestive heart failure.  In addition Roger Goodell has announced that he will add another game to the regular season, making a total of 19 games.
