Kenny Britt must not think the personal conduct policy will be in effect anytime soon because, according to multiple reports, he was arrested on Tuesday for evading police after leading officers on a high-speed chase in Bayonne, New Jersey.

According to TMZ, police officers pulled Britt over for speeding around 4:30 PM on Tuesday, and Britt allegedly declined to be pulled over and sped off from the scene.

A few miles down the road, Britt allegedly pulled over and he and his passenger attempted to "flee" the scene ... by foot. TMZ says that "officers arrested him for alleged possession of marijuana and resisting arrest."

Britt has, according to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, also been charged with "evading to police, lying to police."

This all appears to be in the "allegation stage" at the moment, until there's a firm set of charges and an acknowledgement from someone close to Britt. (That gets a little tricky what with no contact from the Titans.)

But, provided the charges are correct, it's not the first time that Britt's had a run-in with the law. In 2010 Britt was arrested for outstanding traffic warrants (also in New Jersey) and then had an incident at a night club that inspired far too many CSI:Nashville jokes when Jeff Fisher decided to do a little investigation himself.

But Fisher won't be snooping around here, and neither will anyone involved with the NFL, because of the lockout. But you can bet that once the labor issues get taken care of, one of the things Roger Goodell will address is Britt's status for 2011.

Report: Kenny Britt nailed for eluding cops in NJ

Kenny Britt is now Exibit 8,312,498 on why the NFL players already make too much money.  With all the playing of the media going on by both sides in this dispute, everytime a player screws up, he makes the whole group of players look like overpaid fools that deserve nothing.  The NFLPA should tell all the players to stay in their homes and say nothing to the media because everytime they open their mouths, dumb stuff comes out.

Is it so outlandish for these professional athletes to live the lives of law obiding citizens? The money of being a pro athlete gives them special priviledges in terms of money but can't they learn that it doesn't give them a "get out of jail free card."

Lets see, if there is no players union, doesnt that mean that the NFL's player conduct rules dont have any bearing until a deal gets worked out? Does that mean that the playas can go wild and make it rain accro$$ the country without fear of suspension. Not saying that this applies to Britt, but I was just wondering how or if the NFL will deal with conduct matters. I dont think Britt did anything that would warant a suspension from GODell but exactly what are the conduct requirements of the players if they are not currently employed by any teams?

LOL, cmon lying to the police is not against the law, not smart but not illegal.
Actually, it is. It is called "obstruction". Considering the lie he told was supposedly that he wasn't driving, is certainly trying to obstruct the proper application of charges and justice.

Report: Kenny Britt nailed for eluding cops in NJ

451 NFL players have been arrested in the last 10 years and over 90% have been black.  Do not look at this as being racial because the stats do not lie.

It probably seems that way because 66-70% of the NFL players are not white. They are mostly black or hispanic. So when you have about 2000 NFL players (including PS players) then that is 680 - 500 white players compared to 1320 to 1500...so of course its going to be a bigger percentage of players being black or hispanic getting arrested.

The NBA is 80-82% black, hispanic & asian players

now if you want to talk about the amounts of different races in the prisons...then thats a different story with many factors in it

Oh please stop it, keep your morals to yourself. How about you go own a team and you can set the rules until then stop crying about it.
