Kenny Britt must not think the personal conduct policy will be in effect anytime soon because, according to multiple reports, he was arrested on Tuesday for evading police after leading officers on a high-speed chase in Bayonne, New Jersey.

According to TMZ, police officers pulled Britt over for speeding around 4:30 PM on Tuesday, and Britt allegedly declined to be pulled over and sped off from the scene.

A few miles down the road, Britt allegedly pulled over and he and his passenger attempted to "flee" the scene ... by foot. TMZ says that "officers arrested him for alleged possession of marijuana and resisting arrest."

Britt has, according to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, also been charged with "evading to police, lying to police."

This all appears to be in the "allegation stage" at the moment, until there's a firm set of charges and an acknowledgement from someone close to Britt. (That gets a little tricky what with no contact from the Titans.)

But, provided the charges are correct, it's not the first time that Britt's had a run-in with the law. In 2010 Britt was arrested for outstanding traffic warrants (also in New Jersey) and then had an incident at a night club that inspired far too many CSI:Nashville jokes when Jeff Fisher decided to do a little investigation himself.

But Fisher won't be snooping around here, and neither will anyone involved with the NFL, because of the lockout. But you can bet that once the labor issues get taken care of, one of the things Roger Goodell will address is Britt's status for 2011.

considering the number of black players in the NFL the relative number of incidents is generally low especially considering you are making low income punks instant millionaires. It is true however that some guys just never learn and it seems that this is going to be one of them. Heavy sigh!

Tis a shame, I thought he was a good egg. In any case, this is another one of many poor role models and community members who lack foresight and respect for others. He certainly isn't the only one, and this is not a reflection of a problem of race, and not necessarily of class either, but a greater community that will not stand up to illegal activity and hard-headed foolishness.

Report: Kenny Britt nailed for eluding cops in NJ

I find it difficult to understand why black NFL players can`t seem to stay out of harms way.  The amount of arrests are troubling to say the least.  The arrest level for black NFL players is far higher than any stats for any business in America, and this is players who are being paid well.

451 NFL players have been arrested in the last 10 years and over 90% have been black.  Do not look at this as being racial because the stats do not lie.  These players are not doin their people good.

This is NEVER going to end unless you address the REAL problem.  If you keep enabling these young ethnic players and give them the easy way out...they will never change.  This will only continue to get worse.  They see O.J. get off from a double homicide, they see Marvin Harrison get away with shooting a man, they see Ray Lewis get away with murder...and they think they can do it and get away with it also.  Aquib Talib, Brandon Merriweather, Kenny Britt, the list keeps getting bigger and the crimes keep getting worse.

It's not only a sad state for the NFL, it's a sad day for this country.

I love how these guys think that they can flee on FOOT after being stopped.  "I know, let's run real fast", from officers who are packin'.  What did this guy get on the Wonderlic Test.

Shame about Britt.  Could be one of the most explosive WRs in the league, instead he can't keep straight.
