UPDATE 3:30 p.m. EST: Albert Breer of NFL Network reports that Marshall is out of the hospital but has defensive wounds on his hands. Those wounds are not believed to be serious, but they could certainly impact Michi Marshall's claim that she stabbed her husband in self defense.

----------

Brandon Marshall is expected to be discharged from a South Florida hospital Saturday after spending several hours in intensive care following a stabbing from his wife during a domestic dispute. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Marshall underwent surgery late Friday night for a stomach wound and is expected to make a full recovery in 2-3 weeks.

Meanwhile, Michi Nagomi-Marshall, who married the Dolphins receiver in 2010, remains in Broward County Jail on one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Her bail is set at $7,500.

There is thick cloudiness regarding exactly what happened Friday night. Andrew Carter of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports that Michi has admitted to stabbing her husband with a kitchen knife, but she says she was acting in self defense.

There are reports that Marshall is claiming he slipped and fell on a vase. (Doctors have determined that Marshall was stabbed.) ESPN reports that Marshall was driven to the hospital in a car after whoever called 911 declined a dispatcher's offer to provide of an ambulance.

Marshall's agent, Kennard McGuire, issued a statement to NFL.com's Jason La Canfora: "This is a very difficult time for Brandon and family, thankfully he will make a full recovery. We simply ask that his privacy is respected."

As the Denver police came to find out during Marshall’s career as a Bronco, domestic disturbance is not uncommon in the Marshall household. There were countless issues from '06 - '09; in '08 Marshall served a one-game suspension for violating the league's personal conduct policy. Marshall was involved with a domestic issue with Michi in Atlanta two years ago, but all charges were dropped when the couple refused to testify against one another. It's worth noting that the 27-year-old wideout has not been in trouble since signing a four-year, $47.5 million contract with Miami last season.

Despite the lockout's rules prohibiting contact between players and teams, the Dolphins are allowed to be in touch with Marshall to send well wishes (we learned there can be exceptions to the “no contact” rule a few weeks ago when Bengals’ defensive end Antwan Odom’s house burnt down).

Albert Breer of NFL Network was told by the league that Dolphins team doctors are also allowed to see Marshall and consult with his doctors.

And their is no caving. At least no this year. A judge is about to rule for....wait for it........THE FANS! Yup that's right. It will appear to be a victory for the players because the owners will have to end the lockout, but really it is a bailout for a multi-billion dollar business and all the regular people who's lives depend on it, and the fans. I think the judge could really not care less aboput the players or the owners, but some laws are in precedent that allow her to make a decision that is the right one for the families of the hard working thousands of emplyeed of these teams as well as resteraunts, bars, hotels, and cities that depend on that income 10 times a year to remain in business.

Better hope the NFL labor issue gets resolved soon. Half the players will be dead or in jail before the season finally starts...

Please tell me due to the lockout he doesn't have insurance. Costly medical bills will have another idiot millionare ready to cave to the owners demands.
I am pretty sure that first 41 million he got will cover a stomoach laceration. He needs to be more concerned with being able to prepare fopr the season. Every muschle in your torso affects your stomack every time you move. At a minimum he loses valuable work out time. This guy is bad news and this is why the Dolphins got him so cheap and Denver let him go for practically nothing. He is dynamite on the field for sure, but off, well, it all counts in the end you know...

I have to agree...when are these millionares going to start acting like decent human beings. Just plain stupid to have the worls in your hands and live like morons. God given talent allow the players to earn millions, hard work and risk put the owners in that position....I'm thinking better earned than just given to.

she was arrested. aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and domestic violence. but i wouldnt be surprised if it does turn out to be a self-defense thing. according to another article marshall told team officials he was hit with a vase. sounds like standard brandon marshall weaseling after an altercation. and ya he wont change. if talking shit to a bunch of thugs who retaliate and end up killing darrent williams and shooting several others doesnt change you nothing will.

No mention of his wife being arrested for attempted murder. What a screwed up society. If a man stabbed his wife, he'd be in jail facing 10 years. What about this psycho btttch? Nothing? No arrest?

I'm sure she must have been at least brought in for questioning. But if she wasn't arrested, it makes me wonder if there is some aspect of this that officials think may be justified. Self defense? I don't know, but speculating she's some "psycho btttch" is just as big a leap right now as believing he's a wife-beater.
