UPDATE 3:30 p.m. EST: Albert Breer of NFL Network reports that Marshall is out of the hospital but has defensive wounds on his hands. Those wounds are not believed to be serious, but they could certainly impact Michi Marshall's claim that she stabbed her husband in self defense.

----------

Brandon Marshall is expected to be discharged from a South Florida hospital Saturday after spending several hours in intensive care following a stabbing from his wife during a domestic dispute. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Marshall underwent surgery late Friday night for a stomach wound and is expected to make a full recovery in 2-3 weeks.

Meanwhile, Michi Nagomi-Marshall, who married the Dolphins receiver in 2010, remains in Broward County Jail on one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Her bail is set at $7,500.

There is thick cloudiness regarding exactly what happened Friday night. Andrew Carter of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports that Michi has admitted to stabbing her husband with a kitchen knife, but she says she was acting in self defense.

There are reports that Marshall is claiming he slipped and fell on a vase. (Doctors have determined that Marshall was stabbed.) ESPN reports that Marshall was driven to the hospital in a car after whoever called 911 declined a dispatcher's offer to provide of an ambulance.

Marshall's agent, Kennard McGuire, issued a statement to NFL.com's Jason La Canfora: "This is a very difficult time for Brandon and family, thankfully he will make a full recovery. We simply ask that his privacy is respected."

As the Denver police came to find out during Marshall’s career as a Bronco, domestic disturbance is not uncommon in the Marshall household. There were countless issues from '06 - '09; in '08 Marshall served a one-game suspension for violating the league's personal conduct policy. Marshall was involved with a domestic issue with Michi in Atlanta two years ago, but all charges were dropped when the couple refused to testify against one another. It's worth noting that the 27-year-old wideout has not been in trouble since signing a four-year, $47.5 million contract with Miami last season.

Despite the lockout's rules prohibiting contact between players and teams, the Dolphins are allowed to be in touch with Marshall to send well wishes (we learned there can be exceptions to the “no contact” rule a few weeks ago when Bengals’ defensive end Antwan Odom’s house burnt down).

Albert Breer of NFL Network was told by the league that Dolphins team doctors are also allowed to see Marshall and consult with his doctors.

I believe the wife was acting in self defense, considering his checkered past.  However, she is guilty of stupidity for marrying this freakin clown.  When will these females learn?

This is what I do not get; how is it that two adults who are married get in an argument and one of them gets stabbed? I am married and have been married for 8 years. We have our disagreements, but not once does one of us pull the "I am going to stab you in the belly" card. When we look at the issues Marshall has had over the years, it is plain to see that this guy has the maturity level of my 2 year old and his wife too. Maybe they need to be sent to their rooms without dinner and have an extended time out with no toys. Geez, I just don't get it, but never surprised anymore how these people take a big dump on the blessings they have been given.

Now I am never one to correct someone on their grammar or spelling, but this is a time where I must add my two cents. Please spell check before trashing someone. You just made yourself look like a total idiot.

Curly also butchered intelligence...

What a "stoopid" ass...

Also Marshall should ditch the bitch, or face the reality of going through this again. I foresee his mistake of marrying this girl costing him a few million.

I don't want to stick my toes into the racist arguement.  Frankly, I haven't even read the posts to see what has been said.  I just have to say that I got quite a chuckle out of "Curly", taking a shot as some else's "grammer/spelling".  FYI, Curly, you misspelled grammar.  Nice shot, though.

Just to inform you all. The NFL did release the NFL Schedule what does that tell you about the 2011-2012 seasonIf the NFL was going to be in a lockout the NFL wouldn't release the Schedule. It just shows you  how Stupid and Idiotic the NFL really isThere was never a lockout. Never was never have been. The NFL Just wants you to think there is going to be a Lockout
The NFL Schedule would have never been released and players who are looking for new contracts cant get them intill the lock out is liftedThere isn't no tagging players or any of that during a NFL Lockout
But what do you see in the NFL. teams signing there players to contract extentions or signing them from the free agent market.
NFL Rule Book says this: " No NFL team is allowed to sign or release players during a lockout. If they do they will be fined"
So what does that show you people...Weird huh...The NFL Breaking there own rules...Shows you how stupid and idiotic the NFL really can be.

Just to inform you .............. you don't know what you are talking about.

Of course the NFL released the schedule because they are planning to be ready to play the season.  But did you know they set up the schedule in such a way that the season could begin as late as week 4 and still allow them to get a full 16 games in?  No you didn't because you don't even believe they are in a lockout.

Your statement is totally incorrect - "what do you see in the NFL. teams signing THEIR players to contract extentsions or signing them from the free agent market."  Really?  Give me a list of free agents that have signed with a team, or contract extensions that have been signed since the lockout was initiated.    Yes, some players were tagged PRIOR to the lockout, but their status is up in the air until the players and the league come to an agreement.  No players have been tagged since the lockout began.

If players could be signed teams would be doing it before the draft because that would have an impact on their respective draft boards, but that isn't the case.

It is a lockout.
