Tuesday figures to be chaotic in the NFL. The lockout is, theoretically, over right now. Judge Susan Nelson has ordered a return to business as usual. The owners filed an appeal and Monday night in the Eighth Circuit Court and will request a stay on Tuesday.

But until that stay is obtained (if it is obtained), the NFL is open for business. The league has already said, per spokesman Greg Aiello, “We do not intend to start the league year until we have had an opportunity to seek a stay.”

But what will happen Tuesday if players arrive at their team’s facility for offseason workouts? (There are whispers that some agents are telling their players to do that to cover their tails for workout bonuses.) This is a drama that will likely unfold.

Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that Steelers safety Ryan Clark is planning to do just that. “I’m trying to get guys there at 8 o’clock, to get out there and show we want to be here, we want to be part of this organization and we want to be on the field,” Clark said. “We want to show this is not a litigation process but an attempt to have football in 2011.”

Stay tuned…

UPDATE 11:00 p.m. EST: A source told Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio that coaches are being told not to talk to the players for now.

UPDATE 11:44 p.m. EST: ESPN Cleveland's Will Burge reports that Scott Fujita and some of the Browns also plan on showing up at the team facility on Tuesday.

UPDATE 11:52 p.m. EST: An NFL spokesman says, via Tom Pelissero of Minnestoa's ESPN 1500, that "If a player comes to the facility, he will be treated courteously and with respect." But it has been said that teams may choose to keep the weight room closed.

Players plan on showing up for work Tuesday

All the players need to show up the more the better they look and if management locks them out or pulls anything it will make them look even worse.
