For some reason, Rex Ryan’s new book seems to have struck a nerve with a few folks within the New York Giants organization. The Giants’ theme against Ryan’s autobiography (in which Ryan says the Jets would have beaten the Packers in Super Bowl XLV) has essentially been, Shut up if you’ve never been to the big game.
Giants spokesman Pat Hanlon is now leading the charge against Ryan and his book (if we can call it a “charge”…which we probably can’t given that that this story will almost certainly blow over until the two teams square off on Christmas Eve).
Looks at some of the tweets Hanlon recently sent out about Ryan and his book:
“You gotta be in it to win it.”
“Tom Coughlin wrote a book, too. It was about a team and [a head coach] that won a Super Bowl.”
“Based on my observation, uh, no. RT @BobKat7: @giantspathanlon Jesus H. Christ! Does this guy EVER stfu? #RyanTheClown”
“Did you say Super Bowls? RT @HeartlessJersey: @giantspathanlon keep missing the playoffs!”
“RT @AngryNYfan: @giantspathanlon @ProFootballTalk Rex is a very good coach but every time he opens his mouth I thank God we have Coughlin”
“Guy can coach his big ass off, I agree RT @vinnykey: Rex certainly says stupid things but bottom line - 2 years and 2 AFC Champ games. Not many can say that. @MarchettiT”
