Brett Favre says he's still 'done with football'

Brett Favre toured a Wrangler facility that was destroyed by a tornado in Hackleburg, Alabama (he's a spokesman, obviously, and from the area). And you'll never guess what someone asked him about.

No, it actually wasn't what more people can do to assist in helping to rebuild the southern areas that have been devastated by the tornados. It was whether or not he's coming back to football in 2011.

The best part, of course, was that Marion County Commission President Don Barnwell was the one who asked Favre about his potential return.

And Favre, per the Associated Press, told Barnwell he was "done with football."

He also said that he wasn't sure if there "would be any football" in 2011, so maybe he's just slow-playing things.

Or perhaps he's just angling for a chance at mentoring Cam Newton.

Brett Favre says he's still 'done with football'

Hey Einstein Will Brinson, why would the county commissioner in Marion County, Alabama ask Brett Faver what can be done to get more help for Alabama ?  That's what Favre should ask the commissioner ( and probably was ).   Give the county commissioner a break.  Maybe he was looking for a bit of normalcy; perhaps it gets hard to continue to lead officials around .... "now this is where the Williams family of 5 died (name not real)" ..."and over here this couple died but were able to save their toddler "  or,  " I would show you the two main churches in town and the high school except that they are gone "   And who in their right mind really believes the commissioner first asked Favre about his football plans ?  Did you know that something like 25 or 30 people died in Hackleburg, AL, out of a population of about 1400.  Not to mention the other 300 that died in Alabama and other surrounding states.   You owe the state of Alabama and commissioner Barnwell a public apology.

Brett Favre says he's still 'done with football'

When are fans going to realize how hard his decision must have been to retire or not. His age is catching up with him but his heart is still young. It will forever be an ongoing battle with him. When he's 60 years old he's still going to want to go out and play. It's his love for the game. He's a instant Hall Of Famer and he was one of the best things to ever happen in the NFL. Hands down. Period.

Great player...obviously. HOFer...no question. But he sucked last year. Time has caught up with Brett. Even he was saying this at the end of last season. He needs to stay retired. He'll embarrass himself even more if he were crazy enough to try to come back.
Well.. To be fair, they had a terrible OL last year, they had no Sydney Rice until almost the end of the season, the Randy Moss experiment failed and Favre was playing hurt from the start of the season. And their defense couldn't stop a nosebleed so Favre had to keep throwing. The whole team was bad last year and their record was a relfection  of that. Heck they had like 5 or 6 turnovers just in one game.

Brett Favre says he's still 'done with football'

"Everybody is on the Favre watch, including, apparently YOU, still12greenbay. Bet you used to druel about him!"

If you're implying that the 4 in my screen name is related to any player, you are incorrect.  I am a FOOTBALL fan and a PACKER fan; in fact my favorite players of all time are not Packers.  When a player bacomes a diva and places himself ahead of the team, it's time to cut ties with him and Favre (definitely never my favorite player) was no different.

Moving on to a relevant issue: I've noticed that CBS Sports has changed its rating system this year.  Before 2011, my rating was 98 but has steadily decreased, probably due to the fact that I play fantasy football on other sites and can't stand other fantasy games.  These ratings literally mean nothing, but the new system is even more pointless and annoying.  The creators of this site are just lucky so many of us are sports junkies, otherwise no one would visit it and read the mindless drivel printed here.
