Warrick Dunn played 12 NFL seasons and by the time he retired in 2008, he had rushed for nearly 11,000 yards and 64 touchdowns. But Dunn is probably better known for his contributions off the field, specifically the Warrick Dunn Family Foundation which, according to the website, is "dedicated to providing opportunities for economically disadvantaged single parents and children who have demonstrated a commitment to achieve financial independence and stability." Essentially, Dunn helps families become homeowners.

But last week police stopped Dunn outside Atlanta because the window tinting on his automobile was too dark. Dunn was also told that he fit the description of a criminal.

On Friday, Dunn wrote about the incident on Facebook.

"Pulled over outside Atl because he said my window tint was too dark. During the stop he asked a lot of personal questions, said I had the characteristics of people transporting drugs & guns. So he searched my car and gave me a warning for my tint. Felt violated and I've had my car since '08, nvr been pulled ovr for tint. Taken back bc I think the reasoning was bad. Ruined my day but not my spirit."

He also tweeted that, "Funny thing is you can see inside bc my tint is not dark. It was cloudy and 5-0 was 20 yards behind at an angle."

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, a spokesman for the Georgia state patrol didn't have any information on the incident, and Dunn couldn't be reached for comment.

Three weeks ago, former NFL quarterback Kordell Stewart was arrested in Alpharetta, Georgia for driving with a suspended license due to an outdated traffic ticket for tinted windows.

I love how all of the sudden everyone on here knows the cops intention.

Yet dulos is dumb enough to follow that by pretending he knows the cop's intention. Dumb.

But the real question is why CBS is now having hack writers like this Ryan Wilson guy post stories days old...
This was a flash reaction story Friday. Other sites had it Friday, and at the latest Saturday...Cbs and their crew of plagerists can't get something out until Wednesday?

Seriously, what is going on CBS? Can't these guys just read the daily news and copy and paste the articles like Gregg Doyel and Mike Freeman have made careers of doing?

What a bunch of me-first crybabies we have become. No, I'm not talking about Dunn. I'm talking about all the reality-denying whiners who continue to carry the water for white supremacists without even knowing it. Do any of you know where that whole "race card" thing came from? Didn't think so.

"Waaah! I'm white and this thing happened to me; therefore, there is no discrimination, because it happened to meeee!!!!"

As if your anecdotal, crybaby whinefest balances out widespread abuse of police powers. There are a lot more good cops than bad, but that still leaves a lot of bad cops out there, and pretending that it happens as often to whites just because a cop hassled you once is willful ignorance and thick-skulled idiocy.
You think you're calling for rationality and moderation, but all you keep saying is, "I don't want to be inconvenienced with reality." Grow up.

All the people with the, "if you don't have anything to hide then don't complain" attitudes are complete morons.  If you have nothing to hide then you should be livid you are being harassed.  There is a constitutional right to freedom from unwarranted search and seizures, only an idiot would willingly waive that right.  It isn't about having nothing to hide, it is about living in what is supposed to be a free country without harrassment from government officials.  Go look up the recent story of the former Marine in Arizona that had nothing to hide but a SWAT team kicked in his door and shot him over 60 times in front of his wife and kid, then refused him medical care for over an hour while they searched his house that had not a single thing illegal much less what was listed in the warrant.  It is just one story of many like it where police and government officials overstep their bounds and do harm to honest citizens, either physically or through trampling their rights as citizens and human beings.

I am from Florida and a group of us were driving through Georgia and we got pulled over leaving the city limits of a town in southwest Georgia because the tint was too dark.  Dunn was lucky, it cost us $200.  BTW our vehicle was and is legal in Florida.  They do profile cars and groups and that is a shame.  They should not have told Dunn that as it is possible some crooks are dumb enough to drive cars that can giveaway their intent.  On the other hand, their race and vehicle should not be the reason for the stop.
The local cop that stopped us had no intention of letting us out of the ticket.  That has to be a big way that town makes money and, probably, mostly from non-locals.
That cop must not have been a football fan or he would have known who Dunn was and just let him go.

Nothing new here.  I thought society already figured out that there are a lot of cops who are a s s h o l e s but there are also good ones to.  It sucks that most of these guys were kids who use to get picked on and now they are acting out on a little revenge for all their childhood persecutions. Maybe they should do some real police work and quit worrying about window tints.
