Warrick Dunn played 12 NFL seasons and by the time he retired in 2008, he had rushed for nearly 11,000 yards and 64 touchdowns. But Dunn is probably better known for his contributions off the field, specifically the Warrick Dunn Family Foundation which, according to the website, is "dedicated to providing opportunities for economically disadvantaged single parents and children who have demonstrated a commitment to achieve financial independence and stability." Essentially, Dunn helps families become homeowners.

But last week police stopped Dunn outside Atlanta because the window tinting on his automobile was too dark. Dunn was also told that he fit the description of a criminal.

On Friday, Dunn wrote about the incident on Facebook.

"Pulled over outside Atl because he said my window tint was too dark. During the stop he asked a lot of personal questions, said I had the characteristics of people transporting drugs & guns. So he searched my car and gave me a warning for my tint. Felt violated and I've had my car since '08, nvr been pulled ovr for tint. Taken back bc I think the reasoning was bad. Ruined my day but not my spirit."

He also tweeted that, "Funny thing is you can see inside bc my tint is not dark. It was cloudy and 5-0 was 20 yards behind at an angle."

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, a spokesman for the Georgia state patrol didn't have any information on the incident, and Dunn couldn't be reached for comment.

Three weeks ago, former NFL quarterback Kordell Stewart was arrested in Alpharetta, Georgia for driving with a suspended license due to an outdated traffic ticket for tinted windows.

Warrick Dunn stopped by police for tinted windows

You sound like a biggoted duck! I just call them like I see them.

The point that should be taken from this article is that a law enforcement officer searched a vehicle with no more rational than the driver"looked like someone who would run drugs or guns."  Somehow you felt the need to rant about your dislike of the dress of some people. I got the impression that you were okay with the search without even knowing what Dunn was wearing. One reason police can behave badly is because they know that people like you will defend them no matter what.

Here's an idea. CHANGE!

Warrick Dunn stopped by police for tinted windows

Another African-American stopped by the police in an expensive car--they just assumed he was a drug dealer.  It never ends.  The African-Americans are being oppressed by the system.  I'm tired of it.
lol.  Did it say it was an expensive car?  If it was a porche, I doubt he would have gotten pulled over.  Cops all over the US pull over the stupid caprices, escalades, denali's and whatever else that have 20" rims and super dark tint.  Profiling works, it didn't matter that the driver was black, because the cops couldn't see him you dummies, they were profiling the car.  Oh, this just in, Police can be minorities too, stop crying about race, it's tiresome. All it is is an excuse.  Wahhh, I keep getting thrown in jail because I have _____ skin color, I can't get a job because I have ____ skin color, I can't stop having kids with different mom's and paying 40 or 50% of my income to child support because I have _____ skin color, it's the system! yah! That's it!, the people with _____ color skin are keeping me down!  B....S.   If you make good choices in this life, and don't break the law, you don't go to jail, period.  If you graduate all the public education you are given, and you choose to succeed with hard work, then your life is usually no better or worse than the rest of ours.  If you choose to hang out with the wrong people, and make stupid choices, your life ends up in the toilet, regardless of skin color.  We make our livings and we enjoy the little things that come from living in the middle. I'm sick of the media blowing this up too, and filling all the sheep's heads with nonsense like these thoughts quoted above.  Would you have heard about this had a person with a different skin tone and same amount of fame would have been pulled over in the exact same vehicle for the EXACT same reason (car looks like a criminal vehicle), no.

Warrick Dunn did nothing wrong and had nothing to hide, so what happened?  He went home.  End of story.

The fact that he was pulled over for tinted windows isn't really the issue here.  The fact that when the cop pulled him over he then searched his car because he looked like he was involved in drugs is asinine.  The constitution protects individuals from illegal search and seizure and no cop should search anyone's car without probable cause.  Black, white, or green the constitution protects everybody.

Before pulling him over, the cop activated his x-ray vision so he could see the color of the man's skin behind the tinted windows.

Then stop the cycle and make education a priority and not acting like a thug trying to make other material things a priority.
My biggest complaint is blacks and WHITES today complain if they don't have a cell phone.  For crying out loud, its not your right to own one if you can't afford it. Pay your bills and put food on your families table first and foremost.   Stop complaining and start studying.  The blacks that gave their lives and humility a century ago would be appalled at what their community is teaching young black men today about priorities.

Good young black men today want to dress like a rapper thug.  Well,  then start waiting for cops to stop you.  If if walks like a duck and quacks like a duck,  police are going to think its a duck.

These things can happen to anybody.  I was pull over in D.C.  20 years ago because I was a white guy driving a POS camero in the wrong area.  The cop told me at the time that a white guy, driving a car like mine in that neighborhood usually was involved with drugs.  Four cars boxed me in and 2 of the cops had their guns out.  Scared the crap out of me at the time but they asked a few questions, looked at my car and that was the end of it.  Quit crying race about everything.

Yeah...right on....I'm tired of these cops not being able to see in cars but still somehow knowing the driver is an African American.  ROTFL

Warrick Dunn is a good guy, but he needs to realize that the cop was doing his job.

I am not condoning police targeting someone because of their race, but unless a young black male in an expensive car is a rapper, or an NFL player, they are likely a drug dealer.  that's just the reality of the world we live in.
