Kenny Britt must take some perverse pleasure in legal entanglements. Because a day after he pleaded guilty to careless driving in his hometown of Bayonne, New Jersey, Britt was -- you guessed it -- arrested again. This time in Hoboken where narcotics officers charged him with two counts of resisting arrest.

Britt was issued a summons and will have to show up in Central Judicial Processing Court in Jersey City on June 16, eight days since his last court appearance.

According to WSMV.com, the complaint says Britt "did purposely prevent or attempt to prevent a public servant from lawfully performing an official function by means of force or violence, specifically by refusing to open your hand when ordered to do so then pulling your hand away."

When you've just pled guilty to another offense hours before it only makes sense that you would hassle a cop at the first opportunity, right? Look, we understand that "refusing to open your hand when ordered to do so" ranks right below jaywalking when it comes abhorrent criminal behavior. But here's a thought: if you've just had a run-in with the law, and you're a relatively high-profile athlete (or just tired of getting arrested), open your hand when the police ask you to, you know, open your hand.

Instead, Britt was charged with using his body "to push away from the officers" and pulled his arm away "while not allowing the officers to handcuff" him.

To recap: the Titans' best receiver can't get separation from law officers who probably haven't played competitive sports since high school. You know, it's not too late for the team to reconsider re-signing Randy Moss.

In related news: Ray Lewis, upon hearing the latest, nodded knowingly, and continued to preach of the impending Armageddon crime spree if the lockout isn't promptly resolved. We've been warned.

@KGS

"Maybe you can learn to type and spell from their excellent educational system because clearly you have not yet learned much."

Before you try to trash someone else, work on your grammar.  "Educational system"?  Take off the AL

I'm American, love this country, land of the FREE. Free meaning you don't have to do anything that's not written in law. What I HATE about this country, is naive fools who are blind to the injustices this government and the police (aka the biggest organized gangs) get away with on a daily basis. Saying you'll do anything a cop asks is spineless. This country was FOUNDED by a revolution. Grow some balls people and stand up for your rights.

@GoFlyers09

Black cops can racial profile too....all it takes is some prejudice.

Black Cop: Hey, there's a questionable looking black guy, I'm going to pull him over and search his car.

All it takes.

It's not about color, it's about profiling someone based upon how they look.  I was pulled over in Jersey with a jamaican friend of mine, had my car searched, after they found nothing I was let go. When I asked WHY I was pulled over...the cop told me "it looked like you came from a suspicious area"....Yeah that's it, nevermind the fact there's a tall puerto rican and a big black guy driving around in a nice car. A lot of cops are F-O-S.

If you don't love America, feel free to move to one of those Arab countries that treat their women so well.  Maybe you can learn to type and spell from their excellent educational system because clearly you have not yet learned much.  If a person does not have anything to hide, why not open your hand when asked?

ok first of all, no one knows exactly what happened so people assuming things only does one thing and we all know what that is. now that is not me sticking up for brit or the cops just me simply stating a fact that none of you know what went down. second of all, people saying he was racial profiled should really just stop. how do you know that one or both of the cops were not black themselves? truth is you don't so stop acting like all cops are white and constantly harrass people of different races.

i'm not going to stick up for either side in this issue but i will say this, people should really practice some common sense in these types of situations. and most of you really need to go back to school and get an education because you made no sense what so ever when you failed miserably at making a point.

" I don't know about you but if a officer asked me to do anything I will comply as I am a law abiding citizen with nothing to hide."

@Kingbishop99

You know what? Saying you'll do "anything" is a d@mn shame. You have rights as well, just because you're a "law abiding citizen" doesn't mean cops should be able to twist the law, harass you, or make you do "anything" that is not within their power. Do you HONESTLY believe everyone that is arrested of something is guilty?  Do you honestly believe people aren't profiled against, and arrested for crimes they didnt commit, simply because they fit a description (tall black male?)  Seems like you put way too much faith in the police of this country. Know your rights and the law. Don't do "anything" a police officer asks of you. Doing that, you can easily play into their game, and wind up incriminating yourself over something you didn't even do. I'm happy you are a "law abiding citizen", however, I wish you would be harassed/arrested by some cops just once for something you didn't do, so you can see the other side of the coin.

Just because you "don't break any laws", doesn't make you holier than anyone. Your sh1t still stinks the same.

I'm from Jersey but live in Dallas now....incredible racial profiling goes on in that little state. While I agree to a certain extent Britt should not be looking to cause trouble....there are certain things I would stand up for as a civilian....who honestly thinks "opening your hand" or not, is a criminal offense.  They didn't book him on anything else other than resisting arrest. He'll get off this easy.

Cops are pigs.

Child(ren), please......stop the "racial profiling" dung.  It makes you sound really unworthy.

@Skreffty... The comment I was responding to reads as follows "If he had been white and inNorth Carolinadriving like that, it wouldn't have been an issue"! A relevant comparison, in your own mind maybe, no where in your comment do you mention anything about another white athlete getting off free of charges for anything. It is your open end comment that leads me to believe that you are not only playing the race card but you are also not very bright in the way you go about it. My reply to your comment was not defensive; I am just simply wondering if you know what the hell you’re talking about, because to me it is clear that you do not. The only thing that this article has to do about his prior charge is that he pled guilty for something that he obviously did, driving recklessly! The type of policeman is relevant because narcotic officers are not patrolling the streets in uniform looking for people to harass, they only approach people when they have spotted them doing something or about to do something or even being in the wrong neighborhood and with the wrong people. They were also trying to get Britt to do something that he did not want to do which to a police officer can only look like you are hiding something. I don't know about you but if a officer asked me to do anything I will comply as I am a law abiding citizen with nothing to hide. Officers cuff people all t he time not because they have or have not broken the law but for the safety of the officer, now athletes are big guys and for safety purposes an officer could detain anyone regardless just to keep safe, they do not have to charge someone just for detaining them. Certainly nothing I said was knee jerk, defensive or albeit stupid.  It appears to me that you might be just a touch on the immature side so regardless of if you respond or not I will leave this discussion at that.
