Kenny Britt arrested day after court appearance

Kenny Britt must take some perverse pleasure in legal entanglements. Because a day after he pleaded guilty to careless driving in his hometown of Bayonne, New Jersey, Britt was -- you guessed it -- arrested again. This time in Hoboken where narcotics officers charged him with two counts of resisting arrest.

Britt was issued a summons and will have to show up in Central Judicial Processing Court in Jersey City on June 16, eight days since his last court appearance.

According to WSMV.com, the complaint says Britt "did purposely prevent or attempt to prevent a public servant from lawfully performing an official function by means of force or violence, specifically by refusing to open your hand when ordered to do so then pulling your hand away."

When you've just pled guilty to another offense hours before it only makes sense that you would hassle a cop at the first opportunity, right? Look, we understand that "refusing to open your hand when ordered to do so" ranks right below jaywalking when it comes abhorrent criminal behavior. But here's a thought: if you've just had a run-in with the law, and you're a relatively high-profile athlete (or just tired of getting arrested), open your hand when the police ask you to, you know, open your hand.

Instead, Britt was charged with using his body "to push away from the officers" and pulled his arm away "while not allowing the officers to handcuff" him.

To recap: the Titans' best receiver can't get separation from law officers who probably haven't played competitive sports since high school. You know, it's not too late for the team to reconsider re-signing Randy Moss.

In related news: Ray Lewis, upon hearing the latest, nodded knowingly, and continued to preach of the impending Armageddon crime spree if the lockout isn't promptly resolved. We've been warned.

What kind of convoluted bull crap charge is this?  Hey, if you love a police state where you're ticketed and beaten to death, searched and harassed without cause, and cops treat everyone like criminnals, stand up and applaud this story. The neocons have another War on Terror to sell you fools.

You know he's gonna get arrested again right, before preseason starts. He has to, ya know. Rule of 3. Might as well go for the hat trick there Kenny. If he was so against opening his hands, he should have just kept them closed and roled out the bird, lol. Ray Lewis is just a Knucklehead.

Steeler...get that curtain off, I know I mis-spelled it however the first two words were "OFF SUBJECT" ....not bashing the cops OR sticking up for criminals....I just find it amuzing watching cop shows they always have some obscure law or laws they break out when they need something to hold a guy. Don't get me wrong some of those scum bags would walk if not for those off the wall violations. Get over yourself. sheeeeeezzzzzzzzz.

Russina Royal, are you serious, thats what you have to say, you bash police for asking a person to open his hand in an area that is known for drugs....Your as dumb as Britt, no player in the nfl deserves the type of money they make, they chose to play football, they knew the affects on there bodies and they get paid, and now in an economy where our government rails us, the banks and corporations control us, and players and owners want to be greedy pieces of crap....Shame on them

It would be nice if people  stopped being in denial about that guys claim last month.  We are already at 14 since the lock-out started March 11.  Of course it can only save potential NFL breathren rebellion if more and more get into jail, instead of having to earn their meal in the next few months by trying to function in the real world.  The real world is scary.
