Saints LB Stanley Arnoux has been reunited with his 2009 Super Bowl ring, which was stolen from him Memorial Day weekend.

Here’s the story, via WSVN 7 News in Miami/Fort Lauderdale:

On Memorial Day, a customer walked into the Kendale Jewelry pawn shop in Southwest Miami-Dade and pawned it for $1,200 (although the ring is actually valued at $30,000). A couple days later, that customer returned to the pawn shop to check on the ring*.

Arnoux*We all should know that returning to the scene of the alleged crime is very bad form.

“I found that odd. I found that very odd,” employee Alberto Iturrey said. So, Iturrey called the police, and investigators determined that a valet manager at the swanky Fontainebleau Hotel had allegedly stolen the ring and then pawned it. (He’s been charged with grand theft and dealing stolen property.) Arnoux, it should be noted, was at a party at the Fontainebleau when somebody broke into his glove box and stole his ring and $200 in cash.

Iturrey then contacted Arnoux via his Twitter page, and Arnoux drove to the store to pick up his merchandise.

"His eyes watered when I gave him back the ring," Iturrey told the TV station. "He told me, his exact words were, "'Man, I feel like I am receiving it again for the first time.'"

What are you talking about coming back to get the item????  I've gone to pawn shops and have seen people in them. When he sold that ring..... that is NO LONGER his ring. He can not come back and get the ring you idiot. Why would the pawn shop owner agree to that? He could probably buy it for a lot more money then he paid before, but you don't just go back and get the ring. I love how you base your opinion on watching tv lol yeah because reality shows are always legit on TV. You may be right about people coming back to get the item, only if they are willing to pay well above the price they did. And the writer is right.... YOU DON'T COME BACK TO CHECK ON A STOLEN RING THAT YOU JUST SOLD!!!!

The story didn't say the guy came back to redeem his pawn ticket.  It said he came back to CHECK on it.  Very different, very dumb.  Equally stupid is pawning a stolen item which is that distinctive--of course, it's going to get attention!  If you're a thief, you pawn "ordinary" jewelry and know a "fence" for the unique items.

All around, very amateur.  I'm glad Arnoux got his ring back.

I don't get it. Why is it odd for someone to pawn something and come back later to get it. The purpose of a pawn shop is to give people a way to make some quick cash in exchange for giving up some collateral. Usually, people pawn valuable items to get much needed cash. Yes, they actually do come back to get items they have pawned. I have seen it happen on tv and in movies....and yes they are based on real life events at a pawn shop.

Just another non-story by cbssports' lowly interns....*YAWN*.

Amen, i am a saints fan and live in NOLA.  Good for him, getting that ring was a long journey for him and for the city of NOLA.  Also, what a dumb ass to go back and check on the ring.  He should go on the TV show, Dumbest Criminals.  Dumd Ass.
