Raheem Brock, who played for the Seahawks last season but will be a free agent once the lockout ends, was arrested Thursday night after he ran out on a $27 restaurant tab, Philadelphia Magazine reports.

According to MyFoxPhilly.com, the former Temple player allegedly walked out on a bill at the South Street club, Copacabana, before police questioned him nearby. A source told MyFoxPhilly.com that "there [was] a minor struggle and police put Brock under arrest."

PFT.com says Brock was charged with theft and resisting arrest and was released Friday morning without bail.

We've written previously that the lockout isn't strictly a billionaires-vs.-millionaires battle over money. Like most of us, many players rely on their weekly paychecks. They aren't all wealthy enough to take eight months off work with no financial worries. That was the case with Dolphins rookie fullback Charles Clay. Apparently, Brock could use some walking-around money, too.

Too bad he didn't call Roger Goodell for a loan before allegedly dining and dashing.

Meanwhile, Ray Lewis nods knowingly.

Raheem Brock arrested for running out on $27 tab

OK, here's the real story on about Raheem Brock.

First, the restaurant is called Copa Bananna.  I know his waitress the night he was arrested.

He was there with an unidentified woman who was the instigator of this whole fiasco.  They sat al fresco and ordered drinks, Raheem was quite nice and the woman was not.  She spouted a bunch of foul language and had a big attitude.  They then ordered food.  There was something she wanted which was not on Copa's menu.  She got upset about that and walked across the street and came back with the item.  When she was informed she couldn't bring other restaurants food into Copa, she became verbaly abusive.  They were told to leave but they didn't have to pay for the food that was almost ready for them but hadn't been served.  They just had to pay the $27.00 for the drinks they had been served.  She was verbally abusive again and they left.  Again, other than leaving her with the check, he was a very nice guy according to the waitress.  She and the manager hailed a cop and told him where they had gone and went back to work.  I guess it was then that Raheem lost his cool, she was told he folded his arms and refused to be handcuffed.  That is when they hit him with the resisting arrest charge.

What the waitress still wants to know is, why didn't they arrest the unidentified woman?   She was the instigator, she was the one who brought food from another restaurant, she was the one spouting the foul language and being verbally abusive.  Why is it expected that the man would pay the tab?  Expecting that in this day and age is very sexist.

I hope I have helped to clear this up, he's not really a bad guy.  He, like a lot of sports figures, needs to pick his friends more carefully.

I love how all the clowns on this thread posted garbage without knowing any details at all.  I guess that would have to include Ryan Wilson, who did his best (and failed) at trying to figure out what happened without actually, you know, working at it.

Raheem Brock arrested for running out on $27 tab

Raheem my man; $27? Come on dude and @ least run up a $150 tab to make this whole fiasco worth it. Your 1st mistake was frequenting a club named "Copacabana". Anyplace that Barry Manilow made a tune of is strictly off limits to a NFL player or any male in this country. I am extending a personal invite to you Mr. Brock to attend my upcoming seminars called "How to make ends meet on $250,000". These events will be held across the land @ your local Holiday Inn Express on every Saturday A.M. while the lockout/strike continues. For the initial fee of $99, you will learn how to stretch out that elusive paycheck without running afoul of the law. Tell all your NFL buddies of this exclusive offer and you'll receive my best seller, "Dining and Dashing in the 21st Century" as a bonus for each sucker you get to attend. Thanks Bro!

Raheem Brock arrested for running out on $27 tab

You people seem to always put the place they might have grown up in as a reason they did something stupid. to me it seems that you have forgotten about that white pitcher that tried to walk out of Macys with 100 dollars worth of jeans with out paying, did his up bringing in  middle class america mean that he has no class, got off your high horse and stop stealing pens and paperclips from work.

JustJoe, go easy on Clay, at least. The NFL hasn't paid the man a dime as yet, so the man went out and got a J-O-B without complaining, doing some physically demanding work. Kudos to him. Brock, on the other hand, just one-upped a practice that's all too common among pro athletes, which is hosing servers on the tip. A lot of the b/ballers are notorious for never giving anything to anyone but women who disrobe for them. MJ, for instance.

He had money to pay for that bill he's just competing against Plaxico Buress to see who can outwit the other. Looks like it's going to be a close one.
Surprised
