This morning, some weird news broke that Hines Ward was arrested in Georgia for driving under the influence.

Everything about the story was strange -- that it was Ward who was (allegedly) committing the criminal act, that it was so close to a potential new labor deal and that it was in Georgia (which has not treated the Steelers well).

But there's apparently a chance it's not as big a deal as previously thought -- Ward's manager Andrew Ree told TMZ on Saturday afternoon that his client didn't, in fact, drive under the influence of alcohol.

"He cooperated fully with the police and truthfully answered all of their questions," Ree said. "We are currently in the process of ascertaining all the facts. From our preliminary investigation we can tell you that we are confident that the facts will show that Hines was NOT impaired by alcohol while driving.

"However, Hines is deeply saddened by this incident and apologizes to his fans and the Steelers organization for this distraction."

Ward doesn't seem like, as Mike Freeman pointed out, the type of guy you'd expect to get nailed like this.

And maybe it'll end up turning out that Ward didn't deserve to get busted and that he didn't do anything wrong.

That'd obviously be good news for everyone in the Steelers organization, Ward and his fans.

Not sure what happened with Hines, but it certainly does not look good. If guilty, appropriate actions should be taken

As for you aholes who continue with the RApelisberger slams and serial rapist accusations, read all the facts and not just the ones that conveniently fit your argument. Having consesual sex in a public restroom with a drunken girl who followed you from bar to bar and practically threw herself on you, then wasn't even sure if she had sex and changed her story 5x, demonstrates extremely poor judgement and stupidity but is hardly rape. But if it provides you some form of comfort or entertainment, I guess you can continue with your ignorance.

We all need to take a step back folks, regardless of which team you support, the players feel they are constantly above the law and have a complete disregard for anyone who tells them different.
And anyone who brings up the "cheating" thing in regards to winning games or superbowls is a fool. Every team in every sport does it and it never relates to winning or losing.

Ward is a drunk and a car theif and Big ben is a serial rapisit, at least the steelers have more reasons for getting throttled in the super bowl by the pack

So says the fan of the team that blatantly cheated their way to 3 SB titles..  Too funny

Havdizzle your an idiot.

First as someone who grew up on the west coast but has traveled everywhere I can tell you Racism exists everywhere. My personal experience is there is more racism in the inner cities of all major metropolitan areas than anywhere else. Including Georgia.

One of my greatest experiences was in Georgia where I seen racism from Whites and Blacks in the same weekend. I also seen more whites defending blacks and standing up to racist whites than I ever seen blacks standing up to racist blacks.

It is even more prominent in California, Vegas, Houston, Chicago, Minneapolis, St. Louis, DC, Philly, NY and the many other cities I have spent time in with my work.

The most racism I have seen and experienced was in New Orleans and it was black on white racism.

The worst I seen was in California and it was hispanic on asian.

To lump this as a racist thing is completely stupid and Georgia has nothing to do with it.

I visit at least 5 inner city areas every year for 2 weeks or more each. I also spend alot of times in rural communities like Amish country and farm land areas in the midwest.

It always comes down the integrity of the people. Less moral people are more racist period.

He was arrested for not taking the breathalyzer as would anyone else be if you refuse to take it!!  Amazing how so many people automatically hang someone out to dry WITHOUT knowing the facts!  None of us KNOW what happened yet
