It started early Saturday when Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward was arrested in Georgia on drunk driving charges. Later that day, Ward's manager told TMZ that not only did Ward "cooperate fully with the police and truthfully answered all of their questions … From our preliminary investigation we can tell you that we are confident that the facts will show that Hines was NOT impaired by alcohol while driving."

Whatever legal fate awaits Ward, it didn't take long for Ravens running back Ray Rice to share his thoughts on the matter, tweeting Saturday: "Well it looks like Hines Ward will miss week 1 when the lockout ends DUI charge not a good look."

As it turns out, the Steelers face the Ravens in Baltimore in Week 1.

Shortly thereafter, Steelers safety Ryan Clark came to Ward's defense. "So glad you could Weigh in. Thx," he tweeted at Rice.

And then, much like high school, it suddenly felt like a showdown in the hallway between classes. (Only lamer because these are grown men going back and forth on Twitter.)

Rice responded with "it's whatever u wanna do bro you know how to find me," before Clark took the high road. "I hear ya brother. Thought we were all better than that. Wouldnt speak negative of you. I'll find you! It's not hard. God bless."

PFT's Michael David Smith points out that drunk driving is a personal issue for Rice. His cousin was killed by a drunk driver in 1998, and he worked with the state of Maryland to campaign against drunk driving.

Whether NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell would suspend Ward is another matter entirely, although he has said that players who violate the personal conduct policy could face sanctions once the lockout ends.

Five stars for Steeltown. Jesus, I can't believe I agree with a Steeler fan on anything other than Troy's hair is pretty.

Rice thinks Ward will miss Week 1 for DUI arrest

The only people that refuse a breathilizer test, are the ones that know they are over the limit.
Actually, this is a false statement. Most attorneys would advise a client not to take the test.

But we get off to-pic - the real question is how many games did Ray Rice announce that Donte Stallworth should have been suspended for?

If he did announce that Stallworth should be suspended for killing someone while driving under the influence; I have no problem with his suggestion of a one game suspension of Hines - if he is also found guilty of DUI.

Rice thinks Ward will miss Week 1 for DUI arrest

Both people are meaningless in the big grand scheme.  Drinking and driving is asking for trouble and possibly setting someone else up for innocent involvement in his poor decision making.  Only difference is he's a pro athlete and he should NEVER out himself in this position.  ..l.. the NFL and all these chumps.

Rice thinks Ward will miss Week 1 for DUI arrest

Can we please end this lockout already so stories like this don't make it to the headlines!!!!! That being said drunk driving is serious and should be a story but I have had enough of all these twitter tough guys. I'm sure Rice can easily get a hold of Ward's phone number and send him a private text if he has a problem with it. Why go onto twitter and trash talk where the whole world can see it? Its selfish and only done to get your name in the headlines. I love the rivalry that the Steelers and Ravens have and quite honestly the hatred they have for each other but I miss the days that the trash talk was done on the field face to face and not on twitter and anyone of these other social media websites.I'm not just picking on Ray Rice here, as we all know there are morons on both sides (Mendenhall). Get the deal done, end the lockout, ban twitter and lets play some football and settle it on the field.....PLEASE!!!!!

Rice thinks Ward will miss Week 1 for DUI arrest

IF and it seems like its true that Ward was driving impared then I acually agree with Rice.  He seemed to jump to violence rather quick when Clark commented on him calling Ward out but DUI needs to be taken very seriously.
