It started early Saturday when Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward was arrested in Georgia on drunk driving charges. Later that day, Ward's manager told TMZ that not only did Ward "cooperate fully with the police and truthfully answered all of their questions … From our preliminary investigation we can tell you that we are confident that the facts will show that Hines was NOT impaired by alcohol while driving."

Whatever legal fate awaits Ward, it didn't take long for Ravens running back Ray Rice to share his thoughts on the matter, tweeting Saturday: "Well it looks like Hines Ward will miss week 1 when the lockout ends DUI charge not a good look."

As it turns out, the Steelers face the Ravens in Baltimore in Week 1.

Shortly thereafter, Steelers safety Ryan Clark came to Ward's defense. "So glad you could Weigh in. Thx," he tweeted at Rice.

And then, much like high school, it suddenly felt like a showdown in the hallway between classes. (Only lamer because these are grown men going back and forth on Twitter.)

Rice responded with "it's whatever u wanna do bro you know how to find me," before Clark took the high road. "I hear ya brother. Thought we were all better than that. Wouldnt speak negative of you. I'll find you! It's not hard. God bless."

PFT's Michael David Smith points out that drunk driving is a personal issue for Rice. His cousin was killed by a drunk driver in 1998, and he worked with the state of Maryland to campaign against drunk driving.

Whether NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell would suspend Ward is another matter entirely, although he has said that players who violate the personal conduct policy could face sanctions once the lockout ends.

Rice thinks Ward will miss Week 1 for DUI arrest

Hines Ward just had to go and tarnish his otherwise impeccable image. Drinking and driving is one of the most disgusting things an individual can do, simply because it is so easily avoidable. Here we have one of the NFL's "Good Guys", doing one of the stupidest things you can do. Obviously his skills are diminishing and apparently when your skills go in the league, there's nothing left to do cept make headlines in other ways.

Rice thinks Ward will miss Week 1 for DUI arrest

Seriously, who cares what, "I've yet to do anything Rice" says. As for Hines, serve the 1 game you'll get, pay your fine and move on. Just don't do it again, next time you may really hurt or kill someone. And did someone really say have a hooker drive him home? Would you really let a hooker drive your Aston Martin? Or your Toyota, Ford, etc, for that matter? Come on people!

Dont give Ryan Clark a reason to head hunt.  Ray Rice I am a big fan of yours.  Please do not sink to the 'twitter war' level.

Have a good day all

The Steelers dominate the Ravens in the Twitter game, too.

Rice thinks Ward will miss Week 1 for DUI arrest

Speeder...that's a pretty ridiculous statement to make about Facebook and Twitter. First off, I'm pretty sure there are a ton of dudes on those social media sites who aren't cowards at all. Second, also pretty sure that Ray Rice and Hines Ward have seen each other in person many times and he would say it to his face if he really wanted to. I doubt anyone would question how HARD a NFL running back is. Give Rice a break, at least he wasn't the dumb a*# who was drinking and driving.

Simply put...if you are on facebook or twitter, you are a coward!!!!  Be a man, say it to his face and dont comment on twitter that you will say it to his face.  Ray Rice... I was a fan of yours as well as Hines Ward, but now I am just a fan of Hines "Hall of Fame" Ward.....and not a fan of some wanna be tough guy (i.e. Ray Rice)  PUNK!

I am a disgusted Ravens fan.
All they do is talk smack off of and continually get beaten on the field like the little stepbrother that they are.
Rice should do his talking on the field...oh yeah he kind of let that opportunity slip through his fingers (literally) back in January.
