Huzzah! Haynesworth passes conditioning test

A day after he failed his conditioning test -- or didn’t take it, depending on who you believe -- new Patriots DL Albert Haynesworth has, in fact, accomplished something that took him many, many tries last season in Washington.

He was in good enough shape to pass the conditioning test that will allow him to practice.

That’s the word from the Boston Herald, which writes that Haynesworth actually might not have taken the test Saturday (even though coach Bill Belichick certainly gave the impression that Haynesworth didn’t pass it).

Either way, Haynesworth is scheduled to be on the practice field Sunday for the Patriots.

Haynesworth will be a different player because he isn't getting paid like a superstar without playing like one. None of his money is guaranteed anymore, so he has to work for it all now. When it comes contract time again, he'll blow everyone away. Then he'll get paid and do as he pleases. The Patriots may get a good year out of him, but not by virtue of being a better team. They made a smart move, because they gave up next to nothing and stand to gain a Pro Bowl caliber player.

Unless he's asked to play in the 3-4 as a nose tackle, or do anything he didn't do in Tennesee....

That is what winning does it makes a player want to do what it takes to perform.  I guess after last year anything is an upgrade for him.  He will be a different player with the Pats.  Hoody does a good job of finding out what you do best and allowing you to flurish at it.  Haynesworth just has to take advantage of it.Cool

Was the conditioning test held on Coney Island back on July 4th?

Meh, not impressed. If he returns to being a monster defensive player from a few years ago with the Titans and not the monster he was with the Redskins, then I'll be impressed.

The Patriots won nothing without cheating.  Everyone knows that anyone could win a game by spending a few minutes watching the other team's signals but no other team would even look because they had what the Cheatriots don't: ethics.  Every other team would avert their eyes when their opponent would signal.  The Cheatriots would be all google-eyed, staring as if their miserable lives depended on it.  Who could have any respect for the Cheatriots?  Every other team wouldn't look even though they knew they would automatically win the game if they did.  The Patriots did look.  They should be suspended forever.
