Taylor announces return to Dolphins on Facebook

Thirty-four-year-old Randy Moss may have retired Monday (for the time being, anyway), but another grizzled veteran is coming back for at least one more season. Jason Taylor, 36, announced on Facebook, that he has re-signed with the team that originally drafted him in 1997: the Miami Dolphins.

Taylor spent the first 11 years of his career with the Dolphins where he became one of the best pass-rushing defensive ends in the game. He racked up 117 sacks and seven interceptions (three returned for touchdowns), and was a six-time Pro Bowler before the Dolphins traded him prior to the 2008 season to the Redskins for a second- and sixth-round pick.

Eight months later, Washington released Taylor and he signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins for the 2009 season, before signing with the Jets for 2010. New York released Taylor in February 2011.

As for what Taylor has left in the tank at this stage of his career remains to be seen, but the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero writes that "The Dolphins have been searching for depth pass-rush help since the middle of last season. While Koa Misi remains the team's starting strongside linebacker and Cameron Wake is the team's weakside linebacker on early downs, the Dolphins are looking for help in obvious passing downs."

Even at 36, Taylor can still get to the passer, just not as consistently as he once did. For the right price, and given that he's a solid locker room guy, there's a lot to like about the move.

ROY WILLIAMS is nothing but a cancer on and off the field. He cares nothing about teammates or the game and has shown that in Detroit and Dallas. The one move I really do like that Chicago made was Marion Barber. With Forte and Barber that will open up this for Cutler to throw and you will always have a fresh back. You really need to learn about the game yourself " Man of Sports " before you start ripping on others because you dont know crap.

Considering that Roy williams had average numbers in 2009, and was a newbie to the Dallas Cowboys offense. And not to mention was competeing for receptions between Tony Romo's favorite combo Miles Austin and Jason Witten, And with all that said Roy williams still put up decent #'s.   Now he comes to a system with a pass happy offensive coordinator and a QB that has been waiting on a #1 WR,  that and adding that hes played the #1 WR in Mike Martz system and had a Pro-bowl year. And He is coming together with a friendly face at WR-coach.. His old Texas WR coach = the Bears WR coach.   Im not saying hes going to be the same player he was in 06' ... But show some damn respect.
I bet he, does pretty good considering Jay Cutler made Earl Bennet look good, and Roy Williams is a better player than Bennet.

If nothing else he helps our young WR's ( Devin Hester, Johnny Knox ) with some route running tips and maybe some tricks hes learned along his career.   You need to actually know what your talking about before you talk shit about a player and system you obviously no nothing about.
PS- Don't be mad just because Jason Taylor is getting old, and someone commented that his old age is catching up with him... grow up because its true. And I doubt he gets 5 sacks and 3 FF , but whatever.

Jason Taylor is one of the "good guys" in the NFL and I hope he does well and retires with the Dolphins.  It always made me sick to see him in a Jets uniform.

If he does nothing on the field (which is highly doubtful) it will still be good for the young guys in the locker room to see how a true proffesional does his job.
