Ahmad Bradshaw agrees to terms with Giants

After testing free agency and not finding offers quite as lucrative as he had hoped, Ahmad Bradshaw agreed to terms on a new deal with the Giants, where played the previous four seasons.

The team was eager to keep him in New York where he will join Brand Jacobs in the backfield. The duo combined for more than 2,000 rushing yards and 17 TDs a season ago, and were key components in a ground game that ranked seventh in the league, according to Football Outsiders.

According to the New York Post, the Giants made an offer to Bradshaw several days ago but were seeking other options if negotiations fell through. Jason Snelling was set to visit the team Monday, but that was before Bradshaw was back in the fold.

The Post notes that Bradshaw's options were dwindling, too. "He was scheduled to visit the Bengals until they re-signed Cedric Benson. The Redskins expressed interest, before they traded with the Cardinals for Tim Hightower. And the Dolphins were interested before they traded for Reggie Bush," Paul Schwartz wrote Monday.

If there's a lesson here it's this: don't burn bridges. CBSSports.com's Clark Judge writes Monday that "Bradshaw wasn't a distraction. He wasn't a complainer. OK, so he fumbled. So did Tiki Barber.  But that can be helped ... if not resolved. What you couldn't resolve was the 1235 yards that would've evaporated with his departure."

Of the top available free-agent running backs, only Ronnie Brown remains unsigned.

Ahmad Bradshaw agrees to terms with Giants

I think it was more of a case of who was interested and who was not.  Interested = crap teams (Cinci, Warshington, Arizona, Miami).  Not interested = good teams (almost anyone else).  According to the article anyway.  As a player, I wouldn't take a buttload of money to play for a crap team considering how much money they get to begin with.  Maybe I'm just being too damn practical though.  LOL

This was a very smart move by the Giants, if they are going to compete with Philadelphia this year they will need to run the ball and run it a lot.
