Bubba Smith, a two-time Pro Bowler who was one of the stars in the Police Academy movies, was found dead at his home Wednesday, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Officials tell the paper they believe Smith, 66, died of natural causes.

Smith played for the Colts, Raiders and Oilers from 1967-76, and he made the Pro Bowl in 1970 and 1971 as a defensive end.

But today, he’s probably better remembered for playing Lt. Moses Hightower in the Police Academy movies, as seen below.

Either that or as a spokesman for Miller Lite beer.

Another great Baltimore Colt has joined the roster in heaven. He follows John Mackey to God's roster. He had a good catch phrase also that scared QBs "Hubba Hubba, Here comes Bubba". If it wasn't for a freak injury caused by a yard marker in pre season Bubba would have had an even greater career. RIP Charles "Bubba" Smith. A lot of people also don't remember him being a guest star twice on Married..... With Children that were 2 of the funniest episodes in that show's history.

Does anyone else remmber this gem of a show from 1984 "Blue Thunder"?  He played a character named Bubba... it also had Dana Carvey and Dick Butkus.  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086671

/    I missed his football career but  caught all his movies and TV shows.  RIP Bubba.

RIP Bubba Smith...one of the best defensive linemen of all time, and one of the few policeman (real or fictional) who could flip a police car over on his own.  Thanks for the memories, both on the field and on the screen!

I owned a toyota corolla 83... and being 7' tall.. it was hard to drive.  So, I took out the front seat & drove from the back.. just like Bubba did.. I had a 3 seater.  I got the idea from him.. and that movie.  Loved MWC.. I thought of that episode long before of PA.  God Bless the Dead.

To me, he'll always be "Spare-Tire", Al Bundy's arch nemesis from high school football. RIP big guy!
Discodave999 that episode of Married with Children was definitely a classic. The best and funniest part of that episode was the "goal-line stand" where they each pulled out the pictures of their wives and showed it to each other in an attempt to gain a "competitive edge".
That is some classic stuff right there. Thanks for reminding me of that wonderful memory of Bubba Smith. Have a great day!
Once again R.I.P. Bubba.
