The beginning of the 2011 season looms on the horizon, and for a few as-yet-drafted folks, so does the August 17 NFL supplemental draft. One of those folks is Terrelle Pryor, whose status for said draft is still up in the air.

To clear the air, Pryor is reportedly seeking to meet with Commissioner Roger Goodell on either Monday or Tuesday and determine exactly where he stands with the NFL. That's according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, who also reports that Pryor has apparently "already shown that it was inevitable he was going to get kicked out of Ohio State."

This is important because the NFL's basis for keeping Pryor out currently revolves around his simply leaving school and hiring an agent. PFT also obtained a statement from Pryor's attorney, David Cornwell, in which Pryor's representation sounds confident that he'll end up eligible for the draft.

"We have been in discussions with the Commissioner’s office over the past week to address the NFL's concerns," Cornwell wrote. "I am confident that once the NFL has a full understanding of the facts, Terrelle will be part of Wednesday’s supplemental draft."

The supplemental draft is this Wednesday, which leaves very little time for Pryor to get approved by the NFL and then hold a pro day. Previously it was believed that at least three teams were interested in checking out what the former Buckeye had to offer, but because of Pryor's status, he had to postpone his earlier scheduled pro day.

Even without a pro day, though, someone will, we'd think, take a flier on Pryor anyway, simply based on his talent alone. Especially if it only cost them a sixth-round pick in 2012.

Pryor to meet with Goodell, confident in status?

Rosenhaus needs to look at the rules and have his client MAN UP and sit this dance out. Apparently "RULES" do not apply to Rosenhaus  or his clients not to  mention that Pryor couldn't read the word RULE if it were tatoo'd backwards on his forehead and he was looking in the mirror. This should not be news. He simply does not qualify and Goodell will set a bad example if he allows these two clowns to skirt the rules.

I don't like Pryor at all and I absolutely hate Ohio State.   I believe Pryor did a lot he wasn't supposed to do in college and the big shots at Ohio State covered things up for years. Furthermore I honestly don't believe Pryor has a chance to be a starting quarterback in the NFL.  But regardless of what anybody thinks of him or Ohio State or his abilities has nothing to do with the issue at hand, not at all.  What people need to do is be objective and fair about this and understand Pryor totally deserves to be eligible for the supplemental draft.

This is one time a rule should be immediately changed and done so retroactively to give Pryor a chance to be an NFL player.  This rule might literally be the dumbest rule in the history of sports... no joke people, it's THAT BAD.

A kid could be kicked out of school and be eligible.  A kid could flunk out of school and remain eligible.  But Pryor isn't eligible?

Stupid, stupid rule.

Pryor to meet with Goodell, confident in status?

With as tough and unwavering as Goodell has been with players in his league I don't think he'll jump to let in a trouble maker that doesn't qualify.  Pryor had every opportunity to declare for the draft in the spring and decided to come back for his senior year knowing he had a 5 game suspension to serve.  Nothing has changed since then except that "The Vest" was forced out at OSU.  Message to Goodell, knock Rosenhaus flat on his pompous ass and don't let Pryor in until next spring, his only hardship is his agents arrogance and his own stupidity.

Guess what!! Calipari has never been found to be guilty of any infractions...his players have and the schools have, but he has never been found to lie or knowingly omit facts to the NCAA.  So for what its worth, he remains innocent until proven guilty....when and if that happens, I'll be the first in line to run him out of Lexington.

They can't possibly let him in. Otherwise there are about 300 hundred seniors, right now that will forgo  their final
season! hire an agent and apply for the supplemental. Whats he thinking?

I guess knowing it is inevitable that you are going to be kicked out muddies the air?  Drew, do you really think sending Pryor to NY to meet with Goodell is a good idea?  My guess is Goodell will tell him where he stands and Pryor will not like it. Drew, do you think that this will be the last time he meets with Goodell? The guess here is no, and this "air clearing" will sit in Rogers memory. AND...... Why is it that this "ATTORNEY" Cornwell clown is having discussions with the Comish's office? Drew, don't you have a law degree from DUKE?
