Pryor still hoping to land in supplemental draft

Terrelle Pryor still doesn’t know whether he’s eligible for the NFL supplemental draft, but according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, commissioner Roger Goodell is reviewing the facts of the case and could (emphasis on COULD) decide to delay the draft temporarily.

For now, the draft is scheduled for Wednesday and has not been moved, but Pryor also is seeking a meeting with Goodell so he can plead his case in person.

"We have been in discussions with the Commissioner's office over the past week to address the NFL's concerns," David Cornwell, one of Pryor’s attorneys, told ESPN on Sunday. "I am confident that once the NFL has a full understanding of the facts, Terrelle will be part of Wednesday's supplemental draft."

Yet, even if Cornwell is wrong and Pryor isn’t allowed to participate, our friends at the Eye on College Football blog have an interesting idea on how Pryor should spend his time until the 2012 NFL draft.

Writes Adam Jacobi: “However, if for whatever reason, Goodell decides that Pryor's circumstances aren't currently worthy of NFL supplemental draft inclusion, we may get the first instance in NCAA history where a student-athlete petitions to have his previous semester's grades lowered. ‘No no, you've got to give me an F instead of a C! I promise I cheated! Please believe me!’”

Pryor still hoping to land in supplemental draft

Goodell is in no rush to clear Pryor because Pryor did not co-operate with the NCAA.  That was Pryor's choice.

Why does Godell care?  Many reasons i am sure, but most importantly, in Goddells eyes, Pryor is a rule breaker and a cheater, and why should Pryor be rewared for just walking away and not being held accountable for the mess Pryor created or at least at a minimum participated in.  Pryor would be "boooed"  in 28 of the leagues 30 cities.  Do you think that Godell really wants another image problem in the league?  Ill answer that for you - No.

Now Pryor has another choice to make.  Tell the NCAA everything and you'll get cleared to play, or keep your mouth shut and begin your world/canadian football leauge career.

Pryor still hoping to land in supplemental draft

You can make the case that Terrelle Pryor should be in the draft and you can make the case he should not be eligible for the draft, but its wrong for the NFL to just not rule on this one way or the other. Pryor has been waiting for over 2 months and the way it looks to me the NFL is not interested in him playing this year by their silence. The right thing for the league to do was to rule on this in a timely manner!

Pryor still hoping to land in supplemental draft

For a league that has Plaxico, Vick, Haynesworth, Pacman, and others - Pryor looks pretty innocent. Remember - no criminal charges and he was a victim of the NFL lockout. Let him in, get a big bonus, get eventually cut, and be done with it.

Pryor still hoping to land in supplemental draft

so because of this loser the NFL's supplemental draft will be postponed.. wow..  he doesnt deserve that much credit.   I hope Goodel boots him from the draft and to wait around for a year till next draft.   Can he stay out of trouble till than ?   its too bad he gonna have to get a job like us real folks!

As I've said a hundred times, I don't like Pryor and I kinda hate Ohio State.  BUT.... to say Pryor shouldn't be eligible for the supplemental draft but somebody that gets straight f's and kicked out of school is eligible is semi retarded.  Give me a break..... is there a worse rule out there?  If I was Pryor I would do what the writer suggested could happen.  Tell the school he cheated in every subject and deserves an F. Maybe even produce some "proof" it happened and then politely ask the school to let him back in....  when they say he can't go back, he'll automatically be eligible for the draft.

Now does that make any sense?  Like I said, this is the dumbest rule I've ever heard of in my entire life.

Pryor still hoping to land in supplemental draft

Terrelle Pryor should forget about the NFL this year.  Go back to Ohio State and complete work on his degree and prepare for next year's draft.
