Terrelle Pryor's been one of the most talked-about players in the NFL this offseason, thanks to his awkward status with the NFL for the supplemental draft and the inevitable eventual decision by the Raiders to snare him in the third round.

Now it appears he's finally a member of an NFL franchise, as he's in California with the team and set to sign a four-year deal with Oakland.

"We expect him to sign tonight," Raiders exec John Herrera said, via the Associated Press.

Per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the contract includes a $586,000 signing bonus and base salaries of $375,000, $485,000, $595,000 and $645,000 in each of the respective years. The 2011 number does not include the amount (more than $100,000) that Pryor will lose because of the five-game suspension he has to serve to start the year.

Pryor will be eligible to begin practicing with the team Friday, pending his signature on Thursday of course, and could conceivably play with the team in its final preseason on September 2 against the Seahawks.

As a Wolverine fan, I am glad he signed with OSU.  Rich Rod brought enough drama to the winningest team in NCAA football.  I just remember him saying that he chose OSU over UofM because OSU gave him a better shot at becoming an NFL QB.  Name me 2 QB's in the NFL right now that came from OSU.  They might be in the league, but they're holding a clipboard and running the scout team.  There's more UofM QB's starting right now than OSU QB's in the league.  I think Troy Smith is the only OSU QB in the league (nope not anymore).

Name the last time scUM beat tOSU. End of story.

The kid made some  bone-head mistakes, as most kids do, and he has paid a price for it.

I hate to nitpick because the rest of your post was solid, but not this part.   Yeah sure, most kids as you pointed out make mistakes in life. As a matter of fact I can say all kids make mistakes in life.  But most kids do NOT make mistakes this big... sorry man.  Most kids don't hang out with drug dealers or criminals and most kids don't break the law on a consistent basis either.

If your argument or case is that Pryor is going to turn it around, I have no argument for you because anything can happen.  But not even 1 percent of kids hang out with the scum this guy did and break the rules on a regular basis.

My take on Pryor

I like Pryor as a QB.  I dont like how he conducted himself at OSU, and he proved to be a selfish kid.  You cant argue with WINNING though and he definetly does that.  People need to remember that Pryor was a J Tressel project from day one, and had he stayed another year under JT, I think you would see and even better QB that was more NFL ready than he is today.  I dont get it when people say he was soft.  He got ragged on for running out of bounds to avoid contact.  He was OSUs number one QB and was told to do so.  If he had a good match up, he would stiff arm a guy for about twenty yards or run right over him.  This kid is tough!  You have to understand that JT's style of coaching was to coach kids to avoid turnovers at all costs.  I dont agree with that philosophy to such a great extent.  In doing this, JT made Terrelle paranoid about leading his receivers and he was more prone to throwing passes to a receiver back hip to avoid interceptions.  Rarely did you see Pryor hit a WR in stride for great yardage.  JT had him so worried about throwing interceptions and turning the ball over, that it got into his head and he would underthrow EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING.  At OSU, if you were prone to making mistakes, you didnt get a whole lot more chances.  If you were a WR and kept dropping the ball, you could be sent to the bench for the rest of the season.  Thats just another thing I didnt like about JT's coaching.  I liked JT, he was my PE teacher at U of Akron, good guy, fun, easy going.  I really didnt care much for his coaching style though, and for that reason, I cant wait to see how Luke handles this team this year.

I really think Pryor is going to be something special in the NFL.  Im not sure if it will be at QB, or wherever, but hea a great athlete.  The kid made some  bone-head mistakes, as most kids do, and he has paid a price for it.  Contrary to popular belief, he was well liked by his team members.  People have assumed so much about this kid.  SOme of its true, but hes not as bad a kid as people make him out to be.  I hope he does well in the NFL.

Pretty narrow minded train of thought.  The reason Pryor went to OSU, was because he knew that Jim Tressel would do a better job of developing him into a pro style QB than RRod would.  Its not a Michigan, OSU thing,,,,its a Tressel , Dick Rod thing.  Troy Smith was a great college QB but his game didnt translate to the NFL well.  Its VERY VERY tough to make a roster as a QB in the NFL.  He did however, hand U of M thier ass for a few years in a row.  I dont hate Michigan, but if your going to make a comparison, compare apples to apples.

Raiders sign Terrelle Pryor to four-year deal

Can we adress the fact he admitted before signing with Raiders he took more benefits and money, rulling him ineligible for NCAA and eligible for supplemental draft...Many programs hammered for this including UofM (Fab 5) and USC to name a few....TUOS should get same treatment as USC. Jess Sayin' cheating is cheating.
