Chris Johnson tells 'fake Titans fans' to 'STFU'

Earlier on Wednesday, we brought you the story of the MRI that Arian Foster posted on Twitter. This drew some attention. But probably not as much attention as Chris Johnson's string of tweets on Wednesday afternoon that were directed at 'fake Titans fans.'

"Can these fake Titan fans STFU on my timeline I don't have a regular job so don't compare me to you and I can care less if uthink I'm greedy," Johnson tweeted.

For those not down with the hip language that the kids use, "STFU" is a non-too-friendly request for someone to "shut the [expletive] up. (The really cool kids, like me, have moved on to saying "Shut the front door!" but that's neither here nor there.)

If you're a real Titans fan and feel offended because of Johnson's tweets, you shouldn't. He still loves you.

"If you was a real fan my tweet would not bother you it only make the fake fans upset," Johnson added later, while also tweeting "Luv the real fans."

Chris Johnson's Holdout

Obviously, these tweets are related to Johnson's contract situation -- he's currently holding out for what I like to call "Manning money," and won't be satisfied until the Titans make him not just the highest-paid running back in the NFL, but one of the highest-paid players in the NFL.

We've covered most of this ground already. If you want a primer on why Johnson shouldn't get paid the amount of money he wants from Tennessee, you should absolutely read my colleague Ryan Wilson's excellent breakdown on the situation.

It's also abundantly clear that the Titans can't/won't trade Johnson. And we know that Johnson isn't a great candidate to cave and just show up for work until the Titans actually satisfy his demands for more money.

But this latest social-media barrage is indicative of a guy who's extremely frustrated with his situation -- the Titans may eventually pay Johnson the amount of money he wants, but by flailing out at fans on Twitter, whether they be "real" or "fake," Johnson isn't doing himself any favors in terms of showing how calm he's taking the negotiating process.

@ hen1991

Sorry you don't like my comment, but I stand by what I said.

Chris Johnson is an ego maniac, a mouthpiece, and needs to calm his attitude down.

Also.. I don't live in a glass house, I live in a brick house. Further, if you weren't so quick to try and talk down to me for not liking the guys usage of the English language, and actually read what I typed... You would understand that I said he "sounds like a hoodrat, and should be treated like one."....

I never called him a hoodrat, I called him a mouthpiece, and just now an ego maniac... I perceive his usage of the English language as a bit... how should I say it... under educated and ignorant. His slang terminologies are comical at best, and offensive to his very fan base at worst.

It is my personal opinion, and I am entitled to it. I work for a living, and If I talked to my customer base like that, I wouldn't be making a dime... Instead of him being civil and mature, he is a child like MORON... "tweeting" on twitter about how unfair his contract is, how upset he is in his current situation, and then going as far as to call out fans... (his customer base) as "fake"...

It is an opinion of mine that will not change. His shelf life is short, so I understand his desire to get paid. However his approach is far from acceptable in my book, and I could give a rats A$$ if you agree with me or not.

Grow up buddy and smell the crap you are shoveling in my direction. The guy got much better than he deserves, and all of that money is wasted considering he has ZERO chance of making it to a superbowl as long as Peyton Manning is in his division.

Wait and see....

32 teams, at 80 players per -- don't let the actions of 2% paint the picture for the majority. The NFL has a lot more good guys than bad guys. Stop letting the media dictate your perception. You want to feel good about the NFL, do your own research on what the real role-models are doing, because the media for damn sure isn't going to spoon feed that to you like they do all the drama.

Chris Johnson tells 'fake Titans fans' to 'STFU'

Reading some of these posts, I am struck by the number of TEAM fans that have not moved into the 21st Century yet.  Some of these TEAM fans are still of the mind that individual players are to be listened to and respected.  Fact is, NFL players are no longer great guys and role models to be admired.  Those days are mostly gone.  How many articles discussing cheating, abuse, criminal behavior, sexual assaults, rape and even murder does one need to read before you begin to realize that NOTHING that these guys say is worth paying any mind?  Aren't there more important things to consider, as opposed to what a running back thinks of you and your opinions?  Me, I could care less (presuming they aren't accidentally or purposefully shooting and/or raping a loved one) what Chris Johnson thinks about my opinions.  I don't begrudge their right to make money, or their capacity to make as much as someone is willing to pay for their skill set, but I do wish that they would STFU and just do their job so that I can derive some enjoyment from watching the games.  I will be watching NFL games at the clip of at least 4 a weekend.  I will root for the TEAMS, but rarely the individuals.  Sadly, there is less and less connection with individual players, as they continue to disappoint on a personal level, and more and more regarding them as robots or racehorses.  Soul-less freaks who make more in a month than many reading this will make a lifetime, all the while expecting to be treated as nobel lauriates and heads of state.  Your average NFL player, to me, is a race horse who has the capacity to buy his own oats and and deserves a similar amount of respect from fans.

All things a side...and I know this is twitter...universe of terrible spelling and dumb abbreviations....but seriously CJ

"If you was a real fan my tweet would not bother you it only make the fake fans upset"

Speak ENGLISH...not Jive.....   this whole sentence is embarrasing to read as a fellow human being....you are sending this out to thousands of people and you want them to respect you...start with at least attempting to use somewhat proper grammar.

I am not one of those people to jump on people because they have written something incorrectly...we all do it...

BUT I suggest when you are about to rip people in a public forum that you do it in a way that does not make you look like and ignorant fool....

Chris Johnson tells 'fake Titans fans' to 'STFU'

I'm not a Titans fan, but I am a fan of football. And overpaid scumbags like Chris Johnson need to STFU.
In fact I hope you destroy both your f'n knees this year. And to guarantee that will happen, I'll be sure to draft you in my fantasy league.
