Chris Johnson tells 'fake Titans fans' to 'STFU'

Earlier on Wednesday, we brought you the story of the MRI that Arian Foster posted on Twitter. This drew some attention. But probably not as much attention as Chris Johnson's string of tweets on Wednesday afternoon that were directed at 'fake Titans fans.'

"Can these fake Titan fans STFU on my timeline I don't have a regular job so don't compare me to you and I can care less if uthink I'm greedy," Johnson tweeted.

For those not down with the hip language that the kids use, "STFU" is a non-too-friendly request for someone to "shut the [expletive] up. (The really cool kids, like me, have moved on to saying "Shut the front door!" but that's neither here nor there.)

If you're a real Titans fan and feel offended because of Johnson's tweets, you shouldn't. He still loves you.

"If you was a real fan my tweet would not bother you it only make the fake fans upset," Johnson added later, while also tweeting "Luv the real fans."

Chris Johnson's Holdout

Obviously, these tweets are related to Johnson's contract situation -- he's currently holding out for what I like to call "Manning money," and won't be satisfied until the Titans make him not just the highest-paid running back in the NFL, but one of the highest-paid players in the NFL.

We've covered most of this ground already. If you want a primer on why Johnson shouldn't get paid the amount of money he wants from Tennessee, you should absolutely read my colleague Ryan Wilson's excellent breakdown on the situation.

It's also abundantly clear that the Titans can't/won't trade Johnson. And we know that Johnson isn't a great candidate to cave and just show up for work until the Titans actually satisfy his demands for more money.

But this latest social-media barrage is indicative of a guy who's extremely frustrated with his situation -- the Titans may eventually pay Johnson the amount of money he wants, but by flailing out at fans on Twitter, whether they be "real" or "fake," Johnson isn't doing himself any favors in terms of showing how calm he's taking the negotiating process.

The nerve of this guy.  He signed his contract now he should play for what he agreed to.  I dont care if you have a good year as we all know owners get screwed when paying a big check to a guy who had one outstanding year and usually in a contract year and then they get complacent and usually end up over paying for an average player.  I wish owners would band together and stick it to these guys

I hope CBS isn't paying Brinson or that other loser any money.  Hell, none of these "journalists" should be paid a dime.  Any number of people can write better articles, and probably for free.

So CBS: take a page out of these guys' articles and apply it to your costs for this site.  Don't pay these guys any money since they're so easily replaceable.  Instead, put up an article inviting people to e-mail article submissions.  In a perfect world, CBS' sportswriters would all be unemployed.  They all suck.

Hey,

Don't hate the player; hate the game. It's not CJ's fault the NFL has turned into a mega-million-dollar-contract-league

. Take what the kid said in his tweet. He doesn't have a "regular" job. If he was paid the same amount a "regular" job person gets for playing football, what would he be doing? You guessed it, playing football! The NFL needs to wake up. Take away that kings ransom and what will these guys be doing...begging for a spot on SOMEBODY'S team like it was in the old days. BTW, congrats to Frank Gore!

I hope Hasselbeck throws this punk a nice tight spiral right up his ass.  What an ungrateful and ignorant puke.

What an arrogant, out-of-touch cry-baby.

You're right Chris, you don't have a "real job".  A real job would require that you honor a contract.  I'm not a Titans fan, or a "fake Titans fan"...... I'm just someone that watches football and works a "real job" for peanuts; and helps to finance your existence.

I am not a Titans fan and could care less if they go 0-16 or 16-0.  I think Johnson is the one that needs to STFU.  The Titans should put his punk ass on the Failure to report list and keep him there all season and not pay him a nickel this year.

Twitter to narcissistic pro athletes is like crack to a junkie. You can't really ask them to give it up.

That was too damn good not to repost.

Fake Titan fans?  That begs the question, are there actual real Titan fans?  There are so many better things to do in Nashville than go and watch a bumbling team led by glass jaw Hasselbeck.  I guess if he was talking about fantasy football players, like in Fosters idiotic ramblings, I could see his point.  But who would want to be a bandwagon fan for such a horrible team?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the owners get a massive increase in salary space?  A running back who makes the biggest plays in the league deserves "Manning Money"!!  CJ has made more BIG PLAYS than Manning in the last three years...PAY THE MAN!!!
