Chris Johnson tells 'fake Titans fans' to 'STFU'

Earlier on Wednesday, we brought you the story of the MRI that Arian Foster posted on Twitter. This drew some attention. But probably not as much attention as Chris Johnson's string of tweets on Wednesday afternoon that were directed at 'fake Titans fans.'

"Can these fake Titan fans STFU on my timeline I don't have a regular job so don't compare me to you and I can care less if uthink I'm greedy," Johnson tweeted.

For those not down with the hip language that the kids use, "STFU" is a non-too-friendly request for someone to "shut the [expletive] up. (The really cool kids, like me, have moved on to saying "Shut the front door!" but that's neither here nor there.)

If you're a real Titans fan and feel offended because of Johnson's tweets, you shouldn't. He still loves you.

"If you was a real fan my tweet would not bother you it only make the fake fans upset," Johnson added later, while also tweeting "Luv the real fans."

Chris Johnson's Holdout

Obviously, these tweets are related to Johnson's contract situation -- he's currently holding out for what I like to call "Manning money," and won't be satisfied until the Titans make him not just the highest-paid running back in the NFL, but one of the highest-paid players in the NFL.

We've covered most of this ground already. If you want a primer on why Johnson shouldn't get paid the amount of money he wants from Tennessee, you should absolutely read my colleague Ryan Wilson's excellent breakdown on the situation.

It's also abundantly clear that the Titans can't/won't trade Johnson. And we know that Johnson isn't a great candidate to cave and just show up for work until the Titans actually satisfy his demands for more money.

But this latest social-media barrage is indicative of a guy who's extremely frustrated with his situation -- the Titans may eventually pay Johnson the amount of money he wants, but by flailing out at fans on Twitter, whether they be "real" or "fake," Johnson isn't doing himself any favors in terms of showing how calm he's taking the negotiating process.

Chris Johnson tells 'fake Titans fans' to 'STFU'

I'm surprised Chris Johnson could spell STFU!  Hey Chris, what's the number to 911?
Dumbazz!
Thank god he's not on my fantasy team.  At least my guy tweets his MRI results.

Either way they do not get a dime from me.

When you watch the games on TV for "free", they're still getting your "dimes". Watching them on basement internet sites is really the only way I see not giving them any money.

16 million a year for playing a game is absurd. I wish others felt this way like I do. So I guess I am a fake fan because i dont contribute to the mayhem.

Well, whats the difference in what actors/actresses are paif per movie/television show -- or some musicians for that matter? You want Leonardo Dicaprio in a movie, be prepared to dish out $20M. On any given snap, an NFL player's career can be over, forever. I don't think they're too many career ending injuries in the filming of Romantic Comedies. RB's need to get paid when they can because those legs are good for about 6 years and then it's on to the next fresh horse.

"Can these fake Titan fans STFU on my timeline I don't have a regular job..."  No you jackass you do not have a regular job, you make millions of dollars playing a game!  Remember how lucky you are! lets be serious here, where would you be without the game of football?  I would be you would not have gone to college, or even had been admitted!  So now you play a game instead of digging ditches you SMF! For those not down with the hip language that the kids use, "SMF" is a non-too-friendly let someone know they are retarded!

I am really surprised at his actions.  Way to be a role model, CJ!!!!

We all know everyone wants to make a lot of money, that is no secret.  But if I were in his position I would take a huge increase and move on to proving I deserve it.  I wouldn't be demanding the most money in the NFL and then bashing those who don't believe I should be doing so.

There are haters everywhere, don't add to it by attacking "fake" Titan fans who just want their favorite player to suit up for game one.

Although it is a priviledge to play in the NFL, there should be some common ground.  We all know that the owners are already filthy rich from whatever they do in the private industry, but they make their money in the NFL off of the players.  They should be paid accordingly and treated fairly.  But also the players need to recognize when they are being treated fairly.  Its a thin line with professional sports and the rest of America because the rules are different.  As an average Joe no matter how well I do on my job I can't demand increases in salary like an athlete can because the supply of workers for my job is much higher than the supply of top teir running backs.  Trust me, this is economics at its finest.  This is basically Supply and Demand for a highly skilled job.  Doesn't mean you need to be smart because it's based on Skills, and the skill set in this situation is purely physical and not mental.  So therefore he is in a postion of power because his job is one where salary is not sticky in the short run.

I guess I am a fake fan. I stopped going to games long ago when costs went ridiculous. I can easily afford it, just find better ways to spend my money than on a silly game. I watch it on TV for free. I dont buy NFL gear or accessories because I am an adult. So maybe I fall in some of the advertising from commercials but not so much. People like CJ is why I stopped going to games. Sorry for us with "regular" jobs but I am pretty sure those regular people are the ones that go to the games and pay the ridiculous salaries of pro sports athletes. It is kind of ridiculous how all pro sports salaries are nowadays. Supply and Demand are at a peak. One day it will subside when the interest is gone or half of the NFL is in jail...Either way they do not get a dime from me. 16 million a year for playing a game is absurd. I wish others felt this way like I do. So I guess I am a fake fan because i dont contribute to the mayhem.

The only one that needs to "STFU" is Chris Johnson. The guy is as dumb as a rock and couldn't form a complete and coherant sentance if someone held a gun to his head trying to steal his gold teeth. Man, this guy is so freaking dumb it's embarrassing he's allowed to even make as much money as he does. He's not smart enough to be mopping bathrooms at McDonalds.

I thought Sanders bailed on Detroit because he felt they weren't dedicated to putting a worthwhile team around him.

Chris Johnson tells 'fake Titans fans' to 'STFU'

First off I'm a Jets fan, so I dont have any skin in this game, but its frustrating to read articles like this.

News Flash to Chris Johnson....all fans, the one's you consider real or fake, will be contribuing to your salary.   The "real" fans will always show up to games, buy jerseys and other Titans' items.  That is money the Titans can count on.  The so called "fake" fans are the one's with the money the Titans want and YOU need.

Remember you're playing a boy's game for a living.  YOU STFU and just run the ball where the coaches tell you to.

And if you don't like that, I'm sure you're qualified to get a job in sanatation somewhere.

P.S.  A grammar lesson wouldn't hurt you either.
