Chris Johnson tells 'fake Titans fans' to 'STFU'

Earlier on Wednesday, we brought you the story of the MRI that Arian Foster posted on Twitter. This drew some attention. But probably not as much attention as Chris Johnson's string of tweets on Wednesday afternoon that were directed at 'fake Titans fans.'

"Can these fake Titan fans STFU on my timeline I don't have a regular job so don't compare me to you and I can care less if uthink I'm greedy," Johnson tweeted.

For those not down with the hip language that the kids use, "STFU" is a non-too-friendly request for someone to "shut the [expletive] up. (The really cool kids, like me, have moved on to saying "Shut the front door!" but that's neither here nor there.)

If you're a real Titans fan and feel offended because of Johnson's tweets, you shouldn't. He still loves you.

"If you was a real fan my tweet would not bother you it only make the fake fans upset," Johnson added later, while also tweeting "Luv the real fans."

Chris Johnson's Holdout

Obviously, these tweets are related to Johnson's contract situation -- he's currently holding out for what I like to call "Manning money," and won't be satisfied until the Titans make him not just the highest-paid running back in the NFL, but one of the highest-paid players in the NFL.

We've covered most of this ground already. If you want a primer on why Johnson shouldn't get paid the amount of money he wants from Tennessee, you should absolutely read my colleague Ryan Wilson's excellent breakdown on the situation.

It's also abundantly clear that the Titans can't/won't trade Johnson. And we know that Johnson isn't a great candidate to cave and just show up for work until the Titans actually satisfy his demands for more money.

But this latest social-media barrage is indicative of a guy who's extremely frustrated with his situation -- the Titans may eventually pay Johnson the amount of money he wants, but by flailing out at fans on Twitter, whether they be "real" or "fake," Johnson isn't doing himself any favors in terms of showing how calm he's taking the negotiating process.

I got one for RB's that are "Not what they think they are" and "stupid overblown idiots who are over paid anyway" and "butt heads who really are not worth it" like you CJ: "STFU, sign the dam contract and get to work which you are far behind in", or "STFU and sit your butt out of the program" or "just STFU."

Since he isn't that huge a factor in the W/L column, the Titans should just let his sit out the 2011 campaign, and release the guy at the end of his contract. Now, maybe if he were a bigger factor in the W/L column pay the man, but since he isn't, if he doesn't want to honor his contract I would show him the door. There is no team in the NFL that will pay him "Manning Money", hell probably no team that would offer anything more than 70 mil max. He is a good running back, no refuting that, but he just isn't worth the money when RB's have such a short shelf life in the NFL and are fairly replaceable. Sorry Johnson, but you need to man up and see the bigger picture.

Praying for you in this troubled time? Really? WTF?
#1 Anyone who's praying for CJ to get what he wants is a straight out IDIOT.

The Titans should NOT meet his demands.

I'm sure the Titans will cave though, and feel bad about it the rest of the season as CJ will be hitting the IR list sometime shortly after his 2nd or 3rd game.

I suppose he needs the money for a new diamond grill or something?

I used to like the guy, now his true persona is showing and it's not pretty.

What, you got roid rage? I am only 165 pounds and I bench 380. I would make you look silly in the gym son. Get a life and leave football to us real men.

Everyone who commented on this needs to get a life and if you are a man you really need to grow a pair and stfu!  The media should be exploited for this crap and we didn't need to read this.  There is so much going in sports that is positive and empowering why do we accenuate the negative at any given moment?  All of you responding to this with any emotion are simply lost confused and have your priorities mixed up.  Most of you need to hit the gym anyway with mushroom arms, jello thighs and no muscle tone at all!  Got this keyboard and go work out you limp noodles!

Too bad he can't run the 40 in 4.2 sec in a game with pads on.  The 40 is overrated anyway.  Jerry  Rice wasn't very fast in the 40 and he is the GOAT! Maybe his agent should have got him more money in the beginning if thought he was that good.  I think he is a good back, but he isn't worth 18 million/ year.  Barry Sanders was the best back to ever play and he never whined about his contracts.  Oh and by the way, he wasn't really fast in the 40 either.

Maybe CJ2K should STFU and honor his contract!  He ain't worth Manning money.  The Titans should hold there ground and make him sit out the season.  They are a 4-12 team with or without him.  honor your deal you signed and quit whining because someone else is making more money than you.  Manning (both Mannings) and Brady are far more valuable to there teams than you are to the Titans, obviously, or the Titans would pony up and rework your current deal.

The majority of people will never make that much money. But the majority of people can't run the 40 in 4.2 secs either. The majority of people can't play football, Basketball or any other sport at the level these pro athletes play at. Sports generates more money then u or I can even imagine, and the top athletes deserve every penny they get. Remember, we all get older, and between age and injuries a pro athlete has a relativity short life (career) span. So I  say make your money while you can Chris Johnson.
