Chris Johnson tells 'fake Titans fans' to 'STFU'

Earlier on Wednesday, we brought you the story of the MRI that Arian Foster posted on Twitter. This drew some attention. But probably not as much attention as Chris Johnson's string of tweets on Wednesday afternoon that were directed at 'fake Titans fans.'

"Can these fake Titan fans STFU on my timeline I don't have a regular job so don't compare me to you and I can care less if uthink I'm greedy," Johnson tweeted.

For those not down with the hip language that the kids use, "STFU" is a non-too-friendly request for someone to "shut the [expletive] up. (The really cool kids, like me, have moved on to saying "Shut the front door!" but that's neither here nor there.)

If you're a real Titans fan and feel offended because of Johnson's tweets, you shouldn't. He still loves you.

"If you was a real fan my tweet would not bother you it only make the fake fans upset," Johnson added later, while also tweeting "Luv the real fans."

Chris Johnson's Holdout

Obviously, these tweets are related to Johnson's contract situation -- he's currently holding out for what I like to call "Manning money," and won't be satisfied until the Titans make him not just the highest-paid running back in the NFL, but one of the highest-paid players in the NFL.

We've covered most of this ground already. If you want a primer on why Johnson shouldn't get paid the amount of money he wants from Tennessee, you should absolutely read my colleague Ryan Wilson's excellent breakdown on the situation.

It's also abundantly clear that the Titans can't/won't trade Johnson. And we know that Johnson isn't a great candidate to cave and just show up for work until the Titans actually satisfy his demands for more money.

But this latest social-media barrage is indicative of a guy who's extremely frustrated with his situation -- the Titans may eventually pay Johnson the amount of money he wants, but by flailing out at fans on Twitter, whether they be "real" or "fake," Johnson isn't doing himself any favors in terms of showing how calm he's taking the negotiating process.

If you don't think CJ deserves Manning money then you're a "fake fan". Sounds like present day politics. If you disagree with the Prez, you're racist. Signing this guy will end badly. It may take a year, but the locker room will end up in total Vince Young style chaos. Sign a veteran, add him to Ringer and Sharp and move on. This guy is dishonest, stupid and is not a team player.

I hope Johnson sits and Javon Ringer rushes for 1,500 yards and double digit TDS. Then Johnson can shut up and lament what might have been if he had reported and played.

Here's the deal boys.  If this cat couldn't run like the wind...he'd be in the unemployment like most of his ECU buddies.  I'm really disappointed in myself respondinding to these senseless blogs about this pile of shit.  Remove him from the NFL and he is working for minimum wage.  2k yards rushing will never happen Corn Role Head!!!

If I were the Titans I would sit on this contract until hell froze over.  He signed a contract, if he wants to be pissed about it, get pissy with his agent.  The Titans have solid running backs behind him.  They don't have his flash but they are solid.  RB is one of the easiest skilled positioned to fill in the NFL.  There is always another running back hungry for a chance.  If CJ don't show up then he loses his tenture and still belongs to the Titans.  I would hold his contract and make him play for what he agreed to.

Of course, all these sportswriters don't help.  PAY THE MAN blah blah blah.  I am not a Titan fan but I am a fan of the game.  And I got one thing to say to stupid, ignorant and GREEDY, Chris Johnson. Long after your worthless career is over and you are scrapping the bottom of a dumpster for food.  I will be a Fan. A REAL FAN, Someone tha cares about the TEAM.  You AREN'T a football player, you aren't an honorable man.  You are greedy and have only one thing on your mind.

I suggest you get your sorry A$$ out on the field. Earn your paycheck and play football.  Otherwise you can go down in the history book with Ricky Williams and other RBs that could have changed the game.

OH YEAH CJ,, YOU STFU honor your contract and play football.

I'll actually agree with you, when it does come to the black athletes, they always question "why would he get that much," "what if," "are you sure," "maybe this isn't right" and etc,. I tell ya it's true about Brady, and Eli in which I don't like and I am a Giants fan.

I'm not on Twitter, but it seems to me that it's a good way to identify the dumb and ignorant, especially an athlete that is as high profile as say Chris Johnson.  Today Darnell Dockett tweeted something about almost bringing a gun into the locker room, why would you even say that?  I'll tell you why, because your common sense and intelligence is something your seriously lacking in.  If I was an agent and I knew my client was a moron and seriously lacked in making smart decisions, I would force him or pay him to stay off twitter for as long as he is under contract with a professional team.  In fact I'm pretty sure by next season you will see teams putting stuff like that in contracts, although I believe that is probably against their right to freedom of speech.   Then again it seems to me that professional athletes can do what ever they want and never really have to pay the price of what an ordinary person would.
