The Manning streak is dead. Long live the Manning streak. Well, Eli Manning's streak anyway. Because Peyton Manning's streak is officially over, as Bill Polian informed the public that the Colts have ruled their franchise quarterback out for Sunday's game against the Texans, ending his consecutive games started streak at 227.

"To say I am disappointed in not being able to play is an understatement," Manning said in a statement released by the team. "The best part about football is being out there on the field with my teammates.  It will be tough not to be out there playing for the organization and our fans.  I simply am not healthy enough to play, and I am doing everything I can to get my health back.

"The team will do fine without me, and I know for sure that I will miss them much more than they will miss me.”

Peyton has been the talk of the NFL for more than a week now, as rumors of additional neck surgery swirled.

The chatter peaked when the Colts listed Manning as "doubtful" to play against the Texans on Sunday and now it's official that Manning's consecutive-start streak will end.

It seems improbable that Manning would miss the game because he hasn't missed a start since early in his college career, but it's also indicative of just how serious this injury is -- if Peyton isn't taking snaps from Jeff Saturday come Week 1, you best believe that he's dealing with a highly problematic injury.

Kerry Collins, who the Colts added in the offseason, will start for Indianapolis.

Peyton Manning officially ruled out for Sunday

I guess the team colors are the only thing that's green with envy. How many Super Bowls have the Jets won since 1969, oh, that's right, none. Quit your crying until your team actually does something. So they won a couple of playoff games, so what, even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. The fact is the Jets haven't been able to finish the deal, they've gone limp every year since 1969. Live with it, because the same old story is going to play out again this year for your Jets.

Peyton Manning officially ruled out for Sunday

It's funny when someone brings up that they like certain teams they are a frontrunner.  When we know nothing about this person other than the team he/she likes.  WHY DO PEOPLE CARE?

Peyton Manning officially ruled out for Sunday

Ok,  this was obviously posted by a thirteen year old girl.

Sweetie let's review... There will also be two other records he won't hold. 1. Yards in a season. Some guy named Marino holds that one, and if it is broken chances are it won't be Manning who does it. 2. TD's in a season. 51 will more than likely be unreachable at this point even if he's healthy.

As for the greast QB of all time. I'm sure you never heard of this guy because he retired before you were born, his name is Joe Montana. He has 4 superbowl titles. Yes I know Bradshaw does too, (bet you googled it!) but there is no QB in this league who would dare compare themselves to him, EVER.

Last, the Pats were in a superbowl since 05. Remember that year they went undefeated but lost to the Giants? Awww you were probably in bed, sorry.
Wink

Peyton Manning officially ruled out for Sunday

If you saw the press conference by coach Caldwell*, you'd believe Manning was out for the season, or an extended period of time, by the look on his face and the way he was talking. Didn't look or sound like a coach that was optimistic or that only needed a backup for one game.
