As far as NFL games goes, the second-half of the Monday Night Football doubleheader featuring the Raiders and the Broncos has been sloppy and chocked full of penalties. But through the first 30 minutes of play, Oakland has been the better team, more consistent in all phases, including their two-minute defense and offense.

The chain of events that led to Sebastian Janikowski's NFL record-tying 63-yard field goal started with 24 seconds left in the first half and the Raiders leading 13-3. Oakland safety Matt Giordano picked off a Kyle Orton pass as Denver was driving.

The Raiders took over on their own 24-yard line and a Broncos personal foul coupled with a Jason Campbell screen pass to Marcel Reece that went for 16 yards got the Raiders to the Denver 45-yard line.

With five seconds on the clock, Janikowski took the field and calmly split the uprights from 63 yards away. And we're not kidding. There was never a question.

In pregame, Sea Bass made a 70-yarder going in the same direction. His previous career long is 61 yards. For his career, Janikowski is 29 for 56 from 50-plus yards, and he's now made three field goals from beyond 60 yards.

Janikowski joins Tom Dempsey and Jason Elam as the only other NFL players to convert from 63 yards (see videos below).

While the preseason doesn't count in the record books, Ola Kimrin converted a 65-yard field goal in 2002.

Janikowski ties record with 63-yard field goal

Firstly, it's not spelled C-Bass - pretty obvious you have no idea what you're doing.  I won't correct you here so you have a chance to figure it out for yourself and maybe better you weak skills someday.  Secondly, the fact that it was in Denver is negated by the fact that it had been raining, pouring even, most of the night, which will make the air denser and ball damp...so the altitude really had nothing to do with the fact that the guy has a Hall of Fame leg.
