Reggie Bush says Saints had fake injury play

The biggest story of Week 2 didn't emerge until Monday night, specifically the moment when Giants safety defensive back Deon Grant (allegedly) faked an injury to slow down the Rams' no-huddle offense.

In the ensuing days, Grant defended himself, inexplicably, Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell did not, and plenty of folks have come forward to share their thoughts on what it means to pretend to be hurt.

Next up: Reggie Bush, who admitted that the Saints had a such a play in their playbook (via the Miami Herald):

“We actually had that before in New Orleans,” Bush said, referring to the fake injury play. “It’s just one of those things when you get those hurry-up offensive teams. I mean, it’s legal. They haven’t made any rules yet to say it’s not legal.

“... For the most part you’re supposed to have a designated guy for that. It’s not supposed to be four or five guys falling on the ground at the same time. Obviously that looks real bush league.”

Faking injuries: everybody's doing it

Remember all the mock outrage in the days and weeks following the Patriots Spygate scandal? And then we found out that, to varying degrees, almost every NFL team taped opponents' signals? Sounds like faking injuries isn't much different.

Don't misunderstand, New England was rightly punished for Spygate. But it's not like they were the only team with a video recorder pointed at the opponent's sideline. And, as Bush mentioned above, the Giants had guys going down like there were snipers in the stands. The takeaway: moderation is the key to avoiding detection and ultimately, league sanctions.

Either way, we're with Ed Reed on the whole faking injuries phenomenon.

“I don’t know if they were pretending, man,” Reed said earlier this week. “Sometimes guys get tired. But it’s all within the game. It’s all tactical stuff that you need to use. Whatever it takes.”

More bullshat for your taco?  Why was no one else caught and/or punished then?  Why were the tapes destroyed?  Why was McHoodie, Bellicheat's little snivelly disciple busted and then fired for it but NO ONE ELSE!?   Where are your facts to back this up!?  You are sipmly awful Ryan Wilson.  No journalism like CBS journalism right?  If you get caught you get busted.  Some reported 'heresay' is not enough to say that Spygate and faking injuries 'isn't much different'.   THREE ASTERISKS!

so Miami doesn't have one? Bush looks bush by making this comment. I'm sure evrybody does this tactically when needed but the Giants embarrased themselves when 2 guys dropped on camera like they'd been shot. Trying to defend it by Grant is just insult to (fake) injury. You did it. You got caught. Either own up or shut up because trying to cover up is just further embarrasment

Reggie Bush says Saints had fake injury play

So next time you are injured, Reggie, we will assume a fake injury and throw a flag and take 15 yards for bad acting (new NFL rule called the Bush Rule).  Real Bush league, that would decide your life Reggie.  I do not know when you play the Saints again, but if you do in the next few years, I might consider faking an injury because I am sure they be happy to acommodate you with a real one.  We would not want to break the "Bush Rule".

ahhh yes,,, the wonderful "pick and choose method" of the NFL fans... Reggie Bush is a "rat" , yet somehow Eric Mangini was " the man for having the guts to stand up and tell the truth"...   &nb
sp; when he ratted about spygate...

So was Reggie Bush the "designated guy"? I am waiting for him to go down with his expected out for 4 weeks injury. He is nothing more than an overrated 3rd down rb. Miami made a bad decision thinking he could be an every down rb. It is just a matter of time before Daniel Thomas becomes the primary rb and Bush goes back to being only a 3rd down rb.

Reggie, you are an idiot. You screwed USC now you are trying to give the Saints a bad name. It isn't New Orleans fault you suck. Everyone knows all the teams have a play in their playbook so why would you come out and try to single out the Saints. Sorry Dolphins fans looks like you traded for another reject.

Actually, let me restate this...rat...yes, but he is right.  There are no rules against it. And if they did make a rule...how could the enforce it?

Reggie Bush says Saints had fake injury play

He lied about what happened at USC...a bust, considering he was taken second overall...and now he betrays the Saints. Liar, bust, traitor...quite a trifecta.
