Bryan Thomas tears Achilles; out for year

Making matters worse for the Jets -- coming off a bad 34-17 loss to the Ravens that leads them at a crossroads -- they won’t have one of their emotional defensive leaders for the rest of the season.

That’s because, as the Newark Star Ledger writes, linebacker Bryan Thomas tore his Achilles tendon in Sunday night’s game.

At first, the team announced Thomas -- the 10-year veteran who had a team-high six sacks last season and was playing in a contract year -- had suffered an ankle injury, but by the second quarter, it was clear Thomas would not return to the game.

He was seen on crutches afterward, and when he was asked about the injury, he said, “I don’t know at this point.”

Unfortunately for Thomas and the Jets, the news was about as bad as could be.

Hate to see anyone out for the season due to an injury. The only injury I would like to see on the Jets, is to fat Rex's pie hole, they should wire that thing shut.

I feel bad for Bryan Thomas and I hope he can make a full recovery.  I hope the Jets give him a good contract next year because he has been solid.

I have not heard a whole lot from Rex Ryan. Maybe that's because he has a foot in his mouth.

Let's be real Nadroj, you are a Giants fan. Why are you smoking the Brady tool? Talk about how good Eli is and how he out that ball perfectly on the recievers helmet to win the Super Bowl. Geez man, nobody with a 1/4 of a brain would compare Sanchez to Brady. Are you serious? Sanchez is only in the league 2 years and Brady as much as I hate to say it is one of the best QB's to play the game. Dirty has been good enough for me the first 2 years but he is still making some real bonehead plays. I wish he would clean those up, but I think he will be fine in the long run. The problem at the moment is the offensive line. We cannot run the ball and they are teeing off on Sanchez, he has no chance !!

Nice try man, try going back and watching the tape of the play.  The jets D overloaded a blitz to Manning's blind side forcing him to roll out and make an innacurate pass at the receiver's feet.  If you think he should have caught that, then you were probably high when you made the statement.

IF the Colts dont score all their points, the Jets would have shut them out.  IF the colts get the first down there, they win the game.  IF vinateri misses the go ahead FG with a minute left, the Jets would also have won.

Such intelligent conversation on these boards. It's actually sad, they represent the average loser watching these games and rooting for these teams.
I agree that boards are filled with idiotic conversation.

I just hope that board posters are all childish 15-20 year old kids that simply love running their mouths ... and they make up a microscopic share of all the fans out there.
