Cooley mocks Romo, wants to cagefight him

The rivalry between the Cowboys and Redskins is always entertaining, especially when you have characters like Chris Cooley involved. (For those that don't remember Cooley and then-teammate Colt Brennan did a mock video of Jason Witten and Tony Romo doing a "Fantasy Files" video. It's amazing.)

But Cooley might have taken things to a new level this time, mocking the Cowboys choke against Detroit last week and Romo's meltdown. Also, challenging Romo to fight.

"It’s SO good," Cooley said of Romo's play in Week 4, via Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post. "I was watching the scoreboard in St. Louis, and I didn’t see that they’d lost really until they end, I thought they blew them out so I kind of stopped paying attention. It’s amazing, AMAZINGto watch him choke like that.

"I’m just saying, I’m up 24 points in the third quarter, if I’m the head coach, I feel like I could probably just take a knee for the rest of the game, punt it away and there’s no way that Detroit’s gonna drive on you that many times," Cooley said. "The only way you’re gonna give up that many points is turnovers, right? It’s hilarious to watch him throw pick sixes, too, back-to-back. I loved it. But it wouldn’t be as good as my cage fight."

Cooley makes a pretty good point, and the same one I've been screaming about all week -- the Cowboys were up 24 points and weren't running the damn ball. Just because it's a passing league doesn't mean you have to pass. Run the ball. Melt the clock. Win the game. It's a pretty simple formula if you're up 24 points.

Whatever, the point being that Cooley also said he thinks he can take Romo in a cagefighting match. Arrington, per Steinberg, asked Cooley how long it would take to finish Romo off in the classic steel-cage format. The result is, predictably, awesome.

"For me to beat Tony? I’m gonna be honest, I don’t know what kind of cagefighting skills he has," Cooley said. "I would probably try to incorporate my wrestling ability, like when I was in high school. Obviously it’s been a while, but I didn’t like to beat people fast. I like to embarrass 'em a little bit. Like, take a 24-point lead, and then just play with it a little bit."

Well then -- the Redskins/Cowboys rivalry is just taking on a whole new turn of nastiness isn't it? Cooley seems to have already forgetten what happened in Week 3, when the Cowboys won on Monday night. But that's OK, it only makes the fight that much spicier.

With that in mind, let's break down the measurables. Or, at least, the stuff we like to compare between the two guys. To the tape!

Cooley mocks Romo, wants to cagefight him

I guess Cooley should have lots of time to watch the scoreboard since he's not catching any balls. What's he got, 8 receptions all year? The way he's talking, he seems to think he's a multiple Super Bowl MVP. Just curious, who won that last Cowboy-Redskin game? Yeah, that's what I thought. Great game there Cooley; keep up the good work with that 1 or 2 reception outing.

Cooley mocks Romo, wants to cagefight him

I seriously had to look up who this Cooly guy was only to find he's made 7 catches for 66 yards in 4 (yes FOUR) games this year
First of all, it's Cooley with an e, and second of all, he's far from a nobody. He's made the Pro Bowl twice and was All-Pro in '05. Fred Davis is the featured TE in Washington's offense so it's no surprise Chris hasn't racked up any decent statistics thus far. Look at more than just a player's statistics for just the current year before you make a dumb comment like that.

Romo's 'lady friend' looks much hotter than Cooley's.

Did Cooley give his girl two black eyes? Nice......................guy sounds like a real piece of work.

Cooley mocks Romo, wants to cagefight him

Cooley sucks, hasn't been any good since Joe Gibbs 2.0 coached the Redskins. Romo sucks, he's good for 2 quarters, then sucks for the rest of the game. Part of his method of operations but at least he's good for 2 quarters, whereas Cooley is totally irrellevant. Redskinds need to trade him for a 5th round pick while they can get anything at all for him.'

Yesssssssss!!!!  Coooooooooooooooooooley!  I am sorry, but regardless of your team affiliation, you have to appreciate Cooley's honesty and silliness.  What is more ridiculous behavior?... Talking smack about your opponents while clearly being silly, or getting on the mic after a game and thanking Jesus for bestowing great athleticism on you and allow for you to catch a ball to win the game?  I am not belittling a man's faith, but come on now, do you really think Jesus is worried about the Redskins v. Cowboys?  That is just insane.  If everyone were so open like Cooley is, the NFL would be so much fun.  Just think about it.... how fun is it going to be when these two teams play each other next time?  You will have Cooley walking up and down the sidelines slapping his elbows and if he is about to enter the cage, and across the field, you will have Romo posing like the Hulkster!  I see nothing wrong with it.  It's clearly all in fun.  Plus, do you really think that the whole Redskins team was not laughing their asses off watching the Lions footage in the locker room?  Cooley is just telling it like it is, with a little pinache.  And, no, I have never used the word "pinache" before, nor do I intend to.  I think my testicles just jumped up into my abdomen.  HTTR

You have to appreciate a pathetic loser football player that has played on a loser team for his whole career talk smack about a team that just beat him the week before? Really? You have to appreciate that? How much did Cooley like being on the sidelines watching Romo lead his team to victory first hand? Where was the smack talk then? LOSER!

And yeah, Cooley would be tapping his elbows from the sidelines because he has nothing better to do.....like get in to a game and make any contributions.

What has Tony Romo ever done? Look at the numbers bud. He's done quite a bit. A shade under mediocre? You moron. The guy makes bone headed plays but when he's on his one of the best in the game. He needs to know the situation better though. He can't make those throws.....with that said, Garrett also needs to know and run the fucking ball.

When has Cooley been relevant? He is a loudmouth no talent, that has never lived up to this ability! As the old folks say, Cooley writes checks his ass can't cash! Only thing he is good at is pulling the ugliest cheerleader off the Redskins!

eh.  I'd like to see Romo get his vag kicked by a noname.  Seriously what the **** has Tony Romo done?  This constant lovefest that ESPN creates over this guy, when in reality, he is maybe a notch below mediocre is sickening.  Its nice to see someone call this guy out.

F Romo.

Maybe they could make it a part of the Pro Bowl halftime festivities. Neither one's playing in the Pro Bowl, and nether one's team is going no where near the Super Bowl, unless they purchase a ticket. They don't have nothing else to do, so why not let these scrubs have at it??
