Tim Tebow as Bruce Willis 'Die Hard' successor?

The Die Hard franchise is classic tradition of Bruce Willis swearing and blowing stuff up. But the newest installment, A Good Day to Die Hard, is likely to be Willis' last rodeo as a super-power-lacking everyman hero.

Who will replace him? Well, how do you feel about Tim Tebow as John McClane? HAHA, what?

But, no, seriously, someone in charge suggested this.

"What do you think of Tebow in the lead?" Fox Filmed Entertainment CEO and Chairman Tom Rothman asked Jim Rome on The Jungle Wednesday, while announcing the newest rendition of the franchise.

Rome's response -- "He might be too nice" -- was a little more measured than mine -- passing out in my chair as angry blood rushed to my face -- would have been.

But he's right.

Tebow couldn't play the role of McClane, whose very existence is predicated on the fact that he's always a) hungover and b) saying really mean and inappropriate things to terrorists.

You think Tebow can have the angry, sullen look of a man who decided to forego shaving for a three days and indulge in a heavy combination of beer, cigarettes, scotch and self-loathing? I don't think so. (But come to think of it: Rothman, call me.)

Anyway, it's not going to happen. But give credit to Rothman for figuring out what the one topic he could use on a sports radio show to actually get people discussing the newest Die Hard movie.

And/or making fake Tim Tebow-inspired Die Hard posters. A job well done, sir.

Tim Tebow as Bruce Willis 'Die Hard' successor?

In his first 6 years (2 years in the USFL and his first 4 years in the NFL - 2 with Tampa Bay and the rest with the 49ers) Steve Young never came close to a 60% completion rating and only twice had a QB rating over 65 (one of 'em with the L.A. Express in his rookie year of 1984.)
Do I dare compare Tim Tebow with Steve Young? Well, all one has to do compare game film of both as NFL newbs to see the similarities. Young was lambasted early in his career for poor throwing technique, limited field vision, and a tendency to run first and pass second. Sound familiar? It took Youmg 6 years playing in two different leagues to "figure it out." Anyone who expects Tebow to be the answer in only his 2nd year might consider a little remediation on the game of professional football.

The real question for both Denver's fans and their front office is... will Tebow be your QB when the light goes on? Or will he be somewhere else making you wish you'd been more patient?

Tebow will be bad, mediocre, good, or great. Wait a few weeks to judge him on his on the field performance. His religious views have nothing to do with his playing ability. I could care less. Women and children love him like he is Justin Beiber. Most Bronco fans just want a winner at QB.  If he wins the city will embrace him, if not, his lunatic fringe will still have his back. Most are not Bronco fans; they are Tebow fans.

Another bored cubs fan spouts off. You call us Bronco fans the "WORST"? Two words for you Steve Bartman!. 9 out of ten cubs fans would have done as he did and you idiots are issuing death threats. Your behavior is the worst.

Tim Tebow as Bruce Willis 'Die Hard' successor?

Does a guy like Tebow who stands up there and tells you that if you don't take Jesus Christ as your personal savior, then you are going to @#!*% , strike you as a nice person? Would a nice person say that to their fellow man, no matter what they believed?

If someone told you to leave the building because it is on fire, or you will die, would that be a nice person or a bad person?  After all, he told you to leave or else you will die.  Doesn't sound nice, but when viewed in the overall context, it is very nice.

So, Tebow believes there is a hell, and that he doesn't want anyone to have to suffer there, so He tells you what it will take to avoid the misery.  That is the definition of a nice guy, of a loving guy.

Perhaps it offends you, but if it keeps even one person from ending up there, it is worth it.

Tim Tebow as Bruce Willis 'Die Hard' successor?

Tim Tebow has never once said that if you do not accept Jesus as your savior your going to hell. He clearly has stated many time in his book along with interviews that it is peoples right to accept him or not but that he believes and he preaches the word of God. Get your facts straight dude. Dont go busting on someone you obviously know nothing about.

John Fox coaching stats: 17 yrs, 8 playoff games

To all you Tebow haters  Fox is not a really good coach. His record isn't even .500.  Tebow proved to everyone last year and last week that he can play the game in the NFL as well as any of the QB's playing today. give the boy a try and leave him be. Not many QB's go on to be great, only a handful. Most QB's take time to develop, but one thing is for sure he's not scared of playing or getting hit, something that most QB's hate.
