The Die Hard franchise is classic tradition of Bruce Willis swearing and blowing stuff up. But the newest installment, A Good Day to Die Hard, is likely to be Willis' last rodeo as a super-power-lacking everyman hero.

Who will replace him? Well, how do you feel about Tim Tebow as John McClane? HAHA, what?

But, no, seriously, someone in charge suggested this.

"What do you think of Tebow in the lead?" Fox Filmed Entertainment CEO and Chairman Tom Rothman asked Jim Rome on The Jungle Wednesday, while announcing the newest rendition of the franchise.

Rome's response -- "He might be too nice" -- was a little more measured than mine -- passing out in my chair as angry blood rushed to my face -- would have been.

But he's right.

Tebow couldn't play the role of McClane, whose very existence is predicated on the fact that he's always a) hungover and b) saying really mean and inappropriate things to terrorists.

You think Tebow can have the angry, sullen look of a man who decided to forego shaving for a three days and indulge in a heavy combination of beer, cigarettes, scotch and self-loathing? I don't think so. (But come to think of it: Rothman, call me.)

Anyway, it's not going to happen. But give credit to Rothman for figuring out what the one topic he could use on a sports radio show to actually get people discussing the newest Die Hard movie.

And/or making fake Tim Tebow-inspired Die Hard posters. A job well done, sir.

Funny you mention it, but UNF is where Tebow will be playing after he gets his a$$ kicked as a starter.  Oh wait, UNF doesn't have a football team.  That's ok though because Tebow doesn't have a football future.  Unless Denver offers him a concession stand job.

That is funny. It would work but the only problem is Tebow would not be up for all the swearing invovled. If they could somehow get past that I think it would work! I'd go watch it more for laughs than anything else. I'm a bit behind on wheather or not Tim Tebow has any acting skills but hey its Tim Tebow what can he NOT do? When I was in college me and some guys were talking about flordia beating OU or whaever it was and every time they made some kind of argument or point I returned "All I have to say is.... Tim Tebow" and guess who won the national championship? That's right, Tim Tebow!

Wow, can you imagine Tim Tebow as John McClane, Jr?

"Gosh darn Dad, can't we solve things without guns? Maybe we should try talking to the terrorists instead: maybe we can work things out. Oh, and Dad, can you tone down the swearing?"
