Report: Jerome Harrison has brain tumor

The Jerome Harrison-Ronnie Brown trade that was voided Wednesday between the Lions and the Eagles was thwarted by a brain tumor found in Harrison during a routine physical.

That’s the report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who writes, “Without trade, Jerome Harrison doesn't get physical. Without physical, doctors don't find brain tumor. Trade might have saved his life.”

Now, the disappointment some might have felt when the trade fell through Wednesday has to be tempered by the fortuitous discovery made by the Eagles doctors.

I've been bashing the NFL about all the crap they pull, but having a physical for a trade to be made probably just saved Harrison's life. Good rule!

Report: Jerome Harrison has brain tumor

I lost a friend (who was only 20 years old) to brain tumors just over 2 years ago. Hopefully Jerome Harrison has a better outcome than she did. Good luck Jerome, I'll be rooting for you.

Would have liked to see Ronnie Brown in a Lions uniform, but I would much rather have HArrison take care of his health. Harrison is a decent player who seems like a decent guy hope he pulls through.

All I can say is Wow!

If in fact that the Lions did the same type of physical and didn't detect it bodes well for Jerome. They might of just caught it early enough to treat him succesfully.

Let's put him in our thoughts and prayers for a full recovery.

Some people on this board tonight( Arm and Hammer)need to remember that life is more important than football. His posts bragging about all of his success and Harrisons failings show how truly insecure the man/woman(not really sure) must really be. I would even go as far as to say that if Harrison is the failure that he says he is,that he still has more of a life than Arm and Hammer could ever wish for.

I live in a small town in Alaska and when someone gets sick,we have fundraisers, raffles, charity events and donation jars all over town. That is how people are supposed to help each other, not by getting on a chat board and acting like a pimp and disrespecting a person that has never done anything to you or your family when they are ill.

The only thing I can guess as to his lack of respect is... He must of lost some money betting against him.

Karma is a major bummer Hammer! Hope you sleep well! You could be in line just as fast as the next one that contracts a major illness. Look how fast it hit Jerome!    Even as heartless as you are with your posts I would not wish this kind of illness on anyone. Even You!!

Report: Jerome Harrison has brain tumor

I've never heard exactly what an NFL physical entails, but it sounds like Harrison recieved a CT scan or MRI.  This makes sense considering the brain impact these players undergo.

I was just going to say the NFL and NFL teams deserve a lot of credit for how thorough they are with these physicals.  It would be easy to keep a physical simple enough to let trades go through.  I'm glad they caught this when they did, and i hope Harrison not only survives but lives a very productive life when he's done playing football.

Good luck Jerome....

Report: Jerome Harrison has brain tumor

My best friend had a tumor the size of a golf ball removed from the middle of his brain almost 10 years ago and he is doing just fine.  He did loose some of his long term memory and had to go through speech theropy, but he still works full time and raised a family.  I'm sure Jerome Harrison will have all the love and support of his friends and family, along with the fans.

For those of you arguing with others about the comments they make, remmember 2 things:  1) No matter how stupid they sound, they have the right to make an a$$ of themselves.  2)  You are just playing into their game.  By reacting to their comments, you give them a purpose to carry on.  Laugh at them, ignore them and move on with your day knowing you'll be the better person for not falling into their negativity.

God's speed Mr. Harrison and here's to a speedy recovery.

Arm&Hammer and bloody kotex is the same clown that always comes on these boards and spews garbage when somebody gets hurt or dies or something. Arm&hammer is a Pats fan and who did they just beat? Bloody kotex is an Eagles fan and who do they play twice a year? Just saying.

My prayers go out to Jerome Harrison. You can beat this my man!!!!!!

Mayhew did it again

This just confirms it.  First he fixed Matt Milen's mess and now he saves Harrison's life.

Mayhew is a Miracle Worker.......Cool

Hopefully this is an operative condition which will allow him to continue to reach his potential as a human.
