You might be shocked to hear this, but not a lot of NFL teams are interested in watching Terrell Owens run around a field shirtless. Or, alternately, they're not interested in signing him -- not a single team showed up to the workout Owens had in California on Tuesday.

Owens agent Drew Rosenhaus said prior to the workout that he wouldn't be surprised if teams avoided the trip to California, but chalked the absence of personnel people more to an ability to watch video of Owens than a lack of interest in the player. Owens sounded more realistic.

"I only need one team," Owens said. "I only need one chance."

Physically, Owens looked in impressive shape given his age -- he'll be 38 in December -- and looked quick.

"I don't feel as old as my age actually is," Owens said. "Honestly, you're only as old as what people say you are."

No one's ever doubted Owens skill, regardless of his age. The bigger problem is that Owens is a notorious pain when it comes to his locker-room presence, and that's something that a contending team isn't likely to deal with, unless it's desperate.

What kind of team would that be? Well, the Titans have expressed interest in Owens, but even Rosenhaus admitted that it was a "running interest" (read: alternately hot and cold) and they're a possibility for the wideout because Kenny Britt's done for the year.

But although Owens put up nice numbers in Cincinnati last year, he wasn't exactly an explosive downfield threat, much less a true No. 1 wideout, which is what Tennessee needs.

Week 7 Recap

How about the Raiders? Well, Owens, who played with Carson Palmer last year, wouldn't rule it out.

"Well, I'm very familiar with Carson and if that situation comes up, then definitely I'll have to assess that and talk with my agent," Owens said. "But at this point and at this stage in my career I definitely want to go to a contender. I want to compete for a Super Bowl."

But that doesn't mean he wouldn't play for a non-contender.

"No I'm not going to give up," Owens said about the possibility of retiring if a contender wasn't interested.

He might have to consider giving up, though. There's probably no more than a 20-percent chance that an NFL team signs him, but like T.O. said, maybe there's a chance.

Although if he's at the point where he's filming himself playing football, it might be time to get concerned he's crossed into Uncle Rico territory.

I'm actually really surprised no one's looking. With how valuable a potent offense is and with how many teams need offensive help, TO, despite the possible locker room troubles, would be a good threat for a struggling offense. I'm not saying he's a pro bowler, but if there's a team with a struggling passing game I don't know why you wouldn't give him at least some attention. He had a good season last year and largely stayed out of the spotlight...I think, if anything, last year points to him being a better teammate and a decent offensive weapon. Hype and hate aside, I would think TO could be a big help to a few teams right about now.

The guy is still a beast. He was highly productive in Cincy last year. I don't care what people say, I'd still put him above 50% of the receivers currently in the league.  It's the off the field/locker room stuff that will hold him back.

T.O. Your 38 man 38.  It's time you come hang out with us THE FELLAS.  We all have been there at various levels.  It's similar to catching that Perfect Wave.  You just rode your's better than most of THE FELLAS.  We ALL fall off.  But we get up and move.  It's time for YOU to take your cleats, (since you weren't wearing a shirt).  And get off the field.  They play this game now with the shirt on.  There's a guy in DETRIOT #90.  Would love to see you on a crossing patterns, for four quarters.  And hopefully two games a year.  Come on man, your 38.  You don't need need THAT kinda punishment any more.  Come hang out with THE FELLAS.  All we do is talk about the good ole days.  And boy can we punish a lie. We play Dominos, Chess, shoot Pool & hang out at the Bar or the Pool.  Stop by and see us sometime.  Were ALL around this Great Country.  And if were listening to Ramsey Lewis's Finest Hour cd.  Your in the right place.  We'll leave the light on for you.  Peace Out.

You can't tell me there aren't some practice squad players out there with way more upside than a 38 year old with a dodgy knee.  I am a college football addict and see many, many players who are studs get shipped around the undrafted/practice squad market when they are done in college.  And signing T.O. doesn't guarantee any marketability anymore.

Deader, was it important to note the color of his finance manager? Unless you're a racist, why would you mention it? Anyway, T.O. has no takers because his a total pain in the butt to have on a team. Nobody made him act like a total jerk his whole career. That choice was his and now he is paying the price.

This is a shame.  Wish he could of played and got a contract.  I saw where he is broke because his White finance manager lost/stole all his money and ran away.   He is broke and remember the suicide attempt.  I hope he doesn't kill himself.  He seems decent away from football.  Just wish he could have earned another 3 million over 2 years, then retired.  He is human, don't hate...

I really think Terrell Owens should just hang it up.
