Reggie Bush says the Dolphins 'stink,' upsets teammates in the process. (US PRESSWIRE)

Posted by Ryan Wilson

It happens every season: a team gets off to a slow start, the frustration builds before reaching a tipping point, and people getting fired, traded or released is invariably preceded by back-stabbing and finger-pointing. Which brings us to the 2011 Dolphins.

At 0-6 they're one of the league's sorriest teams, most recently victimized by the Tim Tebow's Blinding Awesomeness (it didn't help that Miami was in the wrong defense on the game's decisive play).

After Sunday's loss, there was plenty of blame to go around. Reggie Bush, who was traded to Miami before the season, spoke frankly.

“It’s just embarrassing, I don’t know any other way to explain it,” he said. “It’s an embarrassing loss. Had no business losing that game. We were up 15 points with what, five minutes left to go? And we couldn’t win it? It’s disgusting. Right now, this team stinks.”

Bush isn't wrong. It's that he probably shouldn't articulate those thoughts publicly. Team unity and whatnot. On Wednesday, Dolphins safety Yeremiah Bell had some thoughts on Bush.

Via Examiner.com's Jeremiah Thermidor:

“He stinks,” Bell said emphatically after being asked what he thought of the comments by Bush. “That shouldn’t be said around this locker room. We know that we’re 0-6 and we’re not playing the best but at the same time there’s no need for that.”

The man makes a point, but the damage has been done. Thermidor writes that Bush's remarks have divided the locker room.

“I just think he said it because he was mad like everybody else was,” McDaniel said. “But I would’ve never said anything like that.”

Linebacker Kevin Burnett, meanwhile, thinks Bush is onto something.

“You are what you put on tape, you are what the numbers say you are and right now we stink,” he said. “If you’re scared to admit the truth, you’ll never amount to anything. So I’m definitely man enough to say we’re not doing things effectively and efficiently.”

Burnett, who earlier this month challenged a beat reporter to "put on some pads, homeboy" after said reporter wrote "Kevin Burnett -- He hasn’t done a single thing worth mentioning in the first three games of 2011, and this defense has gone from good to bad very quickly," can now admit that he's part of the problem.

“I did include myself in that equation (of stinking),” he told Thermidor. “We turn over the football, we don’t get off the field on third downs and we allow big plays so that’s the equivalent of stinking. I mean, it is what it is.”

And what it is is a winless 2011, a lame-duck coach and a feature back who has managed to do less in Miami than he did in New Orleans.

Maybe the Dolphins should've signed Darren Sproles. Not only is he having a better season than Bush, he keeps to himself.

The Miami Dolphins are still searching for their first win as they prepare to take on the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on Sunday. NFL.com's Pat Kirwan and Jason Horowitz preview this matchup. Watch the game on CBS at 1 PM ET.

So now CBS is monitoring what is "reported" on the Examiner.com?  Any unemployed loser who can write three coherent sentences can be a reporter for Examiner.com.
Exactly.  They're looking for mentors for a few of their columnists.

Yeremiah Bell on Reggie Bush: 'He stinks'

I'm a Green Bay Packer fan, born and raised in GB....and although I don't mean to take shots here, hopefully I at least bring some objectivity.  First, the Bush signing was ridiculous if the thought was that he could be a 1,000 yd rusher....he isn't a feature back in the NFL and never will be.  You can argue he shouldn't have said what he did, but you can't argue that he's right.  The difference between his comments and those of Bell is that Reggie didn't call anyone out individually.  You can read into his comments that he was referring to the defense, but I think that's a stretch and regardless didn't warrant a personal attack.  Bell's comments were out of line....it's not Reggie's fault the Dolphins signed him....he's exactly as advertised, an average at best NFL RB.  The Miami franchise is clearly in disarray completely...when I watch on TV, I see more empty seats than filled....fans leave games early, and come back from Halftime late.  The bottom line is that this team is in trouble from every angle.

Yeremiah Bell on Reggie Bush: 'He stinks'

Well, the whole team does indeed..........Stink!   But one thing is evident, and that is, the backstabbing, name calling, is what it is, and with the Dolphins being a losing team, those things always come to the fore.   When you're winning, those things are not present in the locker room, only when you lose.    Is it the truth?..........yes, I'm afraid it is, and the ONLY cure for this frustration is......WINNING.   That, cures ALL ills.   Management must accept some of the responsibility for this debackle, as they evidently didn't get some of the people they really needed, plus, those dreaded injuries also must come into play here as well.    Does Bush stink?..........Well, his play says it all.    Do the Dolphins as a team, stink?   Again, the play says it all, for all to see!    What do you think?     Nobody is immune from this lousy play, but when you bring it all into the public limelight, then it's a bad thing, a demoralizing thing.   I think you know yourself, that if you're bad, you know it, but it's quite another thing, for a team mate or 'friend', to state it publicially, for it brings nothing but embarrassment, and when embarrassed or humiliated, in public, individuals, being human, have a tendency to react, and most of the time, it's in a negative way.    I don't care for the Dolphins, but I hate to see them in such disaray, with anger and resentment, for it will carry over onto the playing field, and that won't help one bit, for they could get even worse than they are now, which doesn't seem possible, but it can.   So far, we haven't heard anything in St Louis or Indiannappolis yet, so will it hit there too?   Perhaps, I guess it's just the way you handle the whole situation.    Now, what do the Dolphins do?   They are lost, and the only way it will all end, is with, the season ending, or they win a couple of games.    Good Luck...............................

.As in, Andrew!

I Kindof feel bad for that guy in the Pizza Hut commercial who wasted a fantasy draft pick on Reggie Bush.

Bush wouldn't have offended his teammates had he started his rant with "I stink".  That would have kept Bell from having to point out the obvious and it would have not made it seem like Bush is blaming everyone else but himself.  Bush and Bell were playing captain obvious...

Not worry, the Redskins will help them not go 0-16. they always do.  THey win games with a lame QB, and loose games they should win.

And I am a skins fan....don't
