Tashard Choice claimed off waivers by Redskins

On Saturday, the Cowboys made the somewhat surprising decision to waive running back Tashard Choice, just a little over 24 hours before playing the Eagles on Sunday night. On Monday, the Washington Redskins claimed Choice off of waivers.

That the Redskins, at 3-4, were able to claim Choice, as first reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN, means a number of other teams, including Philadelphia, passed on the former Georgia Tech star.

But Washington, shut out Sunday against Buffalo in Toronto, has a clear-cut need for offensive help, and with Tim Hightower out for the year, a clear need at running back. Roy Helu and Ryan Torain combined for 24 rushing yards on 11 carries against the Bills Sunday.

Choice was waived/injured so he's not guaranteed to end up even getting playing time with the 'Skins. He's got a hamstring problem and a shoulder problem and, well, it's entirely possible he won't even pass his physical at his point in time.

But Washington, in a freefall from first place in the NFC East, is so beat-up on offense that they probably don't care.

Tashard Choice claimed off waivers by Redskins

I think it starts with the owner. I'd like to see him waived.

Nothing will help the Redskins.  It starts with the head coach.  If he doesn't like you its over for you.  Everything is personal and not a business/football decision.  It's I don't like you so you can't play...he takes the ball and hides up the tree.  Until Mike learns to play the players who can actually do the job asked...this team is toast.  Choice will get the ball because coach likes three headed backs...problem here is when the QB can't throw and is no threat...stack em and sack em.  What happened to Fred Davis yesterday?  Oh right...they didn't throw him the ball!  Just terrible.  It will only get worse.  JKC just rolled over AGAIN!

Its ridiculous to even think that this guy will help them.  Helu and Torrain are both decent backs... its their horrible offensive line that needs to be upgraded, coupled with a QB who can actually play.  Beck stinks.  At least Grossman kept them in games... Teams can just stack the box and blitz the whole game because the line is weak and the Beck reads defenses as if he's doing calculus.

As a Cowboy fan I really like TC but he has either been hurt or puts the ball on the ground every time he plays.  Three fumble the last three games with the Boys = doom.  Plus the emergence of DeMarco Murray rendered him expendable.  Good luck TC, I hope you do well.  Just not vs. the Cowboys!

This is a good move for the Skins' to fill a void because of Tim Hightower's injury eventhough were "big-time" names out there.

Tashard Choice is a good back and hes been buried on the depth chart behind Jones and Barber in previous years. I think if given the oppurtunity he has a chance to help the Redskins this year if he can get healthy.

I really do not know if this a good move, i guess this move is brought up with the bad lose they got last time, but it sure feels like desperation on the Redskins part if they think Choice can help them in their running game, as he produce more fumbles as to yards.
